Security Shift Supervisor

As a Security Shift Supervisor, you will play an essential role in this mission and be a part of our growing organization. You will be responsible for protecting patients, visitors, caregivers, and hospital property by conducting regular patrols and enforcing facility policies.
A caregiver in this position works 2:30pm - 11:00pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Schedule personnel for shift by coordinating personnel with other Shift Supervisors and Sergeant.
Handle general and post order training on shift for all new hires.
Review all shift paperwork for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
Report safety, security and/or fire hazards and makes recommendations.
Provide day-to-day direction and expertise to shift to ensure officers adhere to standards.
Identify, evaluate, and make recommendations pertaining to potential internal and personnel situations affecting the department.
Assist with bringing closure to investigations and reporting events.
Work with all staff to ensure shift transition.
May perform secondary staff meetings to accommodate personnel shifts.
Assist in coordinating the effectiveness of security staff and command personnel throughout shift.
Assist in investigating complaints related to supervised staff.
Respond to requests for assistance from personnel, patients, and visitors.
Develop and maintain good relations with patients, visitors, staff, and coworkers.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Good oral, written communications, interpersonal and analytical skills sufficient to document investigative activities.
Can maintain a prominent level of confidentiality.
State of Florida Class D license for unarmed security officer required.
Meets security clearance for confidential information.
State of Florida Class G firearms license.
Valid Driver's License (VDL). Certified Healthcare Security Officer (SO) credentials to be obtained within the first year of service.

Physical Requirements:
Demonstrates ability to withstand prolonged periods of standing, walking and/or operating a motor vehicle.
Patrol internal / external premises. Control and enforce parking and traffic flow.
Respond to requests for assistance.
Document incidents; follow through with investigative measures.
Communicates routinely with other Shift Supervisors and Security Sergeant.
Maintains shift schedules and related issues.
Requires extensive walking, standing, and sitting. Frequent talking and listening when directing or investigating concerns/incidents/ Frequent use of the phone, computer, fax machine and company vehicles.
The majority of the time the employee will spend commuting between and in the clinical buildings.
Potential exposure to blood and blood borne pathogens is minimal while performing inquisitions and interviews.
Exposure to chemicals during the course of an investigation may require the use of personal protective equipment.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Proper attire and security accessories. Seat belt required to be worn at all times.
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
