Job Description Summary

On the Product Definition Systems Modeling team within Gas Power Engineering, you will be responsible for the assembly and system integration of Gas Turbine System CAD models. Gas Turbine System Modeling integrates CAD designs from Compressor, Combustion, and Turbine Modules to deliver a full assembly of the Gas Turbine. This CAD assembly is used by GE Vernova for concurrent engineering, design in context and interface management. This PDE team partners with Gas Turbine System Engineering to develop Gas Turbine 2D cross-sections and lifting drawings.
The Senior Product Definition Engineer role impacts quality, efficiency and effectiveness of own team. Has significant input into team priorities. Guided by professional practices and policies that are shaped by the role. The role has moderate autonomy, requiring high levels of operational judgment.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead team Monday Morning Planning (MMP) to prioritize workload across multiple demand sources (new unit projects, change orders, product standards, customer support, etc).
  • Coach team members’ technical skill to increase individual Say-Do Ratio, Throughput, and First Pass Yield
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of team’s Standard Work and understand how own area integrates with adjacent teams
  • Communicate project progress, status, risk, necessary inputs, and target dates to internal and external stakeholders
  • Identify high complexity projects and provide technical oversight throughout project lifecycle
  • Equip team to deliver NX CAD assembly of all Gas Turbine systems per project requirements and Bill of Material
  • Navigate Product Lifecycle Management system and Bill of Materials
  • Prepare team for PALM transition
  • Recognize and celebrate team successes (in Customer projects, Continuous Improvement, etc.) 
  • Provide technical expertise in CAD reviews to ensure proper interface management between systems
  • Drive collaboration with Accessory Product Definition teams
  • Develop Systems Thinking within team to identify risks and engage appropriate stakeholders in risk mitigation
  • Embrace Lean and apply its principles in Continuous Improvement and Daily Management
  • Prioritize Safety, Quality, Delivery, then Cost (SQDC) in that order in everything you do
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tool suite

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or a STEM major (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) or Technical Associates degree with 10 years of relevant product definition (CAD) experience.
  • 10+ years of Engineering and/or Product Definition (CAD) experience.
  • Must be able to work 60% onsite in Greenville, SC

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience with Dassault ENOVIA or Siemens Teamcenter PLM system
  • Experience in Gas Turbine design

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $113,200.00 and $188,800.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
