This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Facilities, and Security. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

As part of a growing, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will support the Business Operations team in the Program Management Organization (PMO). This includes a dynamic, large team involved in the development and implementation of art of the possible manufacturing and operations systems to build the road to space.

We are in search of an experienced Project Manager to support the evolution of our manufacturing systems. This individual will support Manufacturing Leadership teams in the deployment of Projects and coordinate with cross functional owners to successfully deploy Blue’s Operations strategy to ensure the successful transition of launch vehicle manufacturing from development to the achievement of rate production. Strong analytical, operational, and communication skills are necessary for success in this role. Potential projects include insource versus outsource strategic and financial analysis, technical capability cost-benefit analysis, inventory strategy evaluation, process document authoring, enterprise software requirements management, creating strategic business processes, chartering toolsets necessary to launch them, and other ad hoc cross-functional strategic projects.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for improving our Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process to control change and provide visibility to functional organizations and business units.

  • Partner with Operations Program Managers for strategy development and associated metrics.

  • Responsible for providing a clear path to execution for Operations teams after strategic decisions

  • The project manager is responsible for facilitating production planning activities, including supply/demand management, interfaces with Supply Chain, and interfaces with manufacturing and test activities.

  • Monitor the movement of raw materials, in-process goods, or completed merchandise to ensure that production needs or customer expectations are met.

  • Collect data and prepare analyses designed to forecast demand or predict inventory needs. Maintain contact with vendors and submits purchase orders or requisitions to ensure a continuous supply of goods.

  • Evaluate existing supply chain processes, collaborating to drive changes when necessary to improve efficiency and overall performance.

  • Use schedule and manufacturing performance data to generate key performance indicators and reporting artifacts to inform business leaders and influence planning updates.

    • Aid the Operations team in facilitating effective decision-making on complicated scenarios that will have a major effect on the organization.

    • Participate in regular meetings with senior leadership team to evaluate organizational barriers to success and develop courses of action to overcome such issues.

    • Ensure information is appropriately gathered, organized, rendered, and presented to maximize decision speed; ensure decisions are executed as intended; manage the capture, assignment, tracking, implementation, and institutionalization of actions.

    • Identify, shape, and lead implementation of pivotal initiatives, e.g., deep dives in subject areas lacking single-threaded owners, emergent challenges

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Masters/ MBA degree in business.

  • Proven experience in building or implementing a Sales, Inventory, Operations and Planning (SIOP) process.

  • Experience leading large scale change management initiatives, that influence culture, define tools and process.

  • 8+ years of relevant program management/operational experience.

  • High judgment with high discretion: ability to be exposed to sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality.

  • Well-developed project-management skills: organized and focused, showing attention to detail, and following up consistently to ensure results.

  • Excellent attention to detail; will manage both tactical and strategic-level information and manage all details. Excellent organization skills are a must.

  • Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, data.

  • Ability to balance technical, business, and organizational influences.

  • Demonstrated history of independent work, foreseeing problems, delivering on commitments, and accountability.

  •  Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Lean and Six Sigma certifications.

  • PMP certification.

  • Experience in ERP/MRP systems.

  • Highly efficient in Microsoft Office Business Applications (Excel, Project, etc.)

  • Highly efficient in Tableau and similar reporting tools.

  • Proficient in Salesforce.


 

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $125,227.50-$175,318.50

Other site ranges may differ
