PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Maintains a clean and orderly working area in production departments/rooms, meeting GMP standards. Performs a broad range of process preparation tasks.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • In production departments/rooms and under limited supervision, responsible for cleaning machines, conveyors, walls, floors, light fixtures, vents, windows, etc., according to GMP and FDA standards.
  • Works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues and/or in making recommendations.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert.
  • Normally receives no instruction on routine daily work, and general instructions on newly introduced assignments.
  • Empties garbage in production areas, as needed.
  • Completes housekeeping logs for area of responsibility.
  • Advises supervisor of needed supplies and shortages.
  • Advises supervisor of maintenance items needing attention.
  • Regularly communicates with line supervisors to resolve issues and ensures that all duties are being done well.
  • Maintains general housekeeping of working area and plant.
  • Follows all Fresenius Policies.
  • Regular attendance and maintaining a good attendance record is an essential function of the job.

  • May provide assistance lower level staff with more complex support tasks that require a higher level of understanding of functions, as directed by immediate supervisor.
  • May escalate issues to supervisor for resolution, as deemed necessary.

  • Assists with various projects as assigned by direct supervisor.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Regularly required to stand for 10 hour shifts; use hands and fingers, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and wear personal protective equipment that may include hearing protection, hair net, and smock. Occasionally required to walk and stoop, kneel, or crouch. Regularly lift and/or move 10 to 25 pounds.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

 

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma required; Associate’s Degree desirable.

 

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS: 

  • Minimum 2 – 4 years of related experience.
  • Knowledgeable with the operations within production rooms.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. 
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.  Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. 
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
  • Basic Windows, Excel (spreadsheets) and Word processing knowledge.
