Job Summary & Responsibilities

Position Summary

Senior finance leader responsible for full financial operations, governance, and strategic business support across Taiwan. This role combines hands‑on financial management with leadership in statutory compliance, FP&A, operational finance, and partnership with commercial and service teams supporting major semiconductor customers.

The ideal candidate brings strong regional and industry experience, understands the semiconductor equipment business model (tool and part shipments, revenue recognition, service revenue, field service cost structures), and can drive financial discipline, accuracy, operational excellence, and strategic insights in a fast‑paced growth environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Regional Financial Control & Reporting

  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close for Taiwan entities with high accuracy and on time, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, and local TW regulations.
  • Oversee revenue recognition for capital equipment sales, service contracts, and spares—ensuring correct treatment of acceptance criteria, multi‑element arrangements, and long‑cycle shipments, as commonly required in semiconductor equipment finance roles.
  • Ensure general ledger integrity, balance sheet accuracy, reconciliations, and journal entries oversight.
  • Validate entries and schedules prepared by Shared Service Centers; maintain robust internal controls aligned with SOX expectations typical in the semiconductor sector.
  • Ensure healthy finance governance across Taiwan operations.

2. Audit, Tax & Statutory Compliance

  • Manage all internal/external audits, including SOX readiness (if applicable), revenue audits, and operational audits.
  • Collaborate with US Headquarter in supporting SEC Financial Statement audit
  • Oversee statutory tax filings, business tax/VAT, regulatory reporting, and annual statutory accounts.
  • Manage corporate income tax, withholding tax for cross‑border transactions, and support transfer pricing documentation aligned with global semiconductor companies’ compliance standards.
  • Maintain strong compliance frameworks and proactively address regulatory changes in Taiwan.

3. FP&A, Strategic Finance & Reporting

  • Lead annual operating plan, rolling forecasts, long‑range planning, and quarterly business reviews (QBRs).
  • Provide analysis on gross margin, field service profitability, tool installation costs, COGS variances, Opex spending, customer credit performance, and service revenue performance.
  • Support business decisions through scenario modeling, pricing support, discount/quote review, customer payment terms evaluation, and ROI analysis for service initiatives or headcount.
  • Partner closely with Taiwan GM, Sales, Service, and Global Ops to support business growth and customer support strategies.
  • Identify risks and opportunities and recommend actions to drive profitability and cost control.
  • Present Taiwan financial performance and strategic insights to regional leadership and HQ.

4. Treasury, Cash Flow & Working Capital Management

  • Manage cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning, and working capital optimization.
  • Oversee bank relationships, intercompany funding, and FX exposure management relating to USD/TWD fluctuations
  • Monitor AR aging for major accounts and support payment collection strategies.
  • Oversee vendor payments, payroll funding, tax payments, and payment approvals through CashPro or equivalent systems.

5. AR/AP Oversight & Operational Finance Management

  • Ensure accurate and timely AP/AR processing, including customer invoicing, milestone billing, and acceptance‑based revenue triggers.
  • Partner with Sales/CSL to track collection status, solve billing discrepancies, and ensure compliance with complex semiconductor customer procurement and acceptance documentation processes.
  • Maintain AP completeness, address vendor issues, and ensure proper PO and GR/IR processes.
  • Support operational teams in maintaining accurate cost records, including service parts, and field service expenses.

6. Systems Ownership & Process Improvement

  • Serve as Taiwan finance owner for Oracle Cloud (or similar ERP), driving workflow design, reconciliations, approval routing, and system discipline.
  • Support upcoming implementations of AP automation, AR modules, or digital finance tools for Taiwan.
  • Identify automation and standardization opportunities, streamline closing processes, and enhance data quality for analytics.
  • Support global digitalization initiatives and enforce strong financial hygiene across entities.

7. Regional Team Leadership & Development

  • Manage and develop Taiwan finance personnel; build capability in accounting, FP&A, compliance, and business partnership.
  • Establish strong workflow, training, and performance management processes.
  • Foster a high‑performance culture emphasizing controls, accuracy, communication, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Education & Credentials

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
  • CPA / Taiwan CPA preferred, consistent with industry expectations.

Experience

  • Solid background in closing, reporting, statutory compliance, and FP&A.
  • Experience managing a team and supporting cross‑functional stakeholders.
