GCIB Financial Institutions (FIG) Team is the coverage team for non-Japanese Financial Institutions in EMEA, providing a wide range of services through our commercial, trust banking and securities services, drawing on the global capabilities of MUFG.

As part of the EMEA FI Strategy, the Sponsor Coverage Team was established, within the broader FIG team, to focus specifically on the Financial Sponsors client base of MUFG in EMEA.  This team has the responsibility to expand business with Financial Sponsors by collaborating with various stakeholders not only from the Bank but also MUSE (Securities) and MUTB (Trust Bank).

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE 

This position is to take the relevant assignments in FI planning & support team which is responsible for supporting business development and ensuring safety & soundness of FI Coverage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The role holder will have responsibilities for both MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc (MUSE).

The responsibilities involve, but not limited to, the following:

KYC related tasks (due date control, tracking, etc) Data management (revenue by team/product, KPI, client category/facility registration, etc) Reporting (exposure, RWA, etc) Central point of contact for Matix MI/C-HUB matters General administrative tasks relating to FI Coverage team (access controls, etc) Support preparation of materials, documents and policies required to support the strategic direction and objectives of the business Additional tasks to ensure/improve safety and soundness of FI Coverage team directed by head of FI Planning & Support

The role holder will have an opportunity to support FI Coverage RM team for client relationship management / deal related tasks from time to time depending on the capacity & workload within the team.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Essential:

  • Business experience in finance sector (Bank, Securities, etc.)
  • Experience in internal controls/reporting

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Functional / Technical Competencies:

  • Sound understanding in internal system and procedures
  • Clear communication skills
  • Strong IT knowledge and skill (Microsoft Office)
  • Sound data analysis and presentation skills
  • Fluency in English, written and spoken

Education / Qualifications:

  • University degree, or equivalent experience in area of expertise
  • Professional qualifications welcome

PERFORMANCE AND DUTIES

The role holder will be assessed in accordance with their employing entity’s performance framework and process with relevant input obtained from the dual hatting entity as relevant.

As duties and responsibilities change, the job description will be reviewed and emended in consultation with the role holder. The role holder will carry out other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the role as requested by their line manager or Department Head.

MANAGING CONFLICTS OF INTEREST

  • The role holder will have responsibilities for both Bank and MUSE.
  • The role holder will be required to perform their duties and responsibilities on an entity neutral basis, without favour.
  • The role holder is required to follow regulatory requirements applicable to ensure each business is appropriately supported and to maintain the legal entity integrity of each of Bank and MUSE.
  • Working terms are dictated by functional mandates, the terms of the Dual-Hat Arrangement Agreement and/or any other relevant agreements between Bank and MUSE.
  • The role holder will have a responsibility to identify and resolve in case there is a difference or conflict in needs between Bank and MUSE, and escalate to the managers where required.
