The Vanguard Australia Human Resources team drives enterprise solutions and strategies focused on talent and leadership whilst driving an inclusive and engaging culture to create conditions where all crew can thrive.
As the Total Rewards Consultant, you will work closely with the Head of Total Rewards to define a local Total Rewards framework which complements the global total rewards strategy that supports attraction and retention, whilst developing and delivering total rewards and initiatives fit-for-purpose for the local Australian market.
Core responsibilities:
Work closely with the Head of Total Rewards to define a local total rewards framework which complements the enterprise total rewards strategy and supports the attraction and retention of an engaged Australian workforce
Develop and deliver total rewards policies and initiatives, ensuring these are fit-for-purpose for the local Australian market.
Implement communication programs to increase the awareness and usage of the total reward offering.
Partner with key Total Rewards stakeholders globally, deliver the cyclical and ad-hoc compensation activities within Australia, including the annual bonus and merit adjustment process, benchmarking and compensation offer development
Conduct compensation and benefits benchmarking exercises and manage surveys to support competitive analysis of programs within the industry. Perform trend analysis and conduct industry best practice research to develop proposals that support decision making
Partner with key stakeholders in legal, risk and finance, where required, to support regulatory and statutory compliance related to total rewards
Establish and maintain positive working relationships with key benefits providers, with a focus on ensuring a high-quality service and value for money is provided
Support the delivery of internal and external regulatory reporting, such as the annual WGEA submission, annual remuneration disclosures and Board reporting
Build and maintain a comprehensive understanding of compensation and benefit practices, identifying trends, changes in employment law, regulatory matters, or compliance requirements, and other factors that impact the design and implementation of compensation and benefit programs
Manage the mobility of international assignees moving to/from Australia through close collaboration with internal and external stakeholder
Participate in special projects and performs other duties as required.
Qualifications & Specialisations that will make an impact:
Prior total rewards experience, with practical knowledge of the regulatory and statutory environment as it relates to compensation and benefits, ideally within the financial services industry
Advanced analytics and Excel capabilities, with proven experience building user-friendly workbooks and sophisticated cost models.0
Ability to summarize complex concepts with clear, succinct and engaging writing and/or data visualization, and to appropriately tailor messages for populations ranging from the broad-based employee population to the senior executive table.
Adaptability to navigate ambiguous problems, develop project plans and drive toward recommended solutions in a collaborative environment.
Strong stakeholder management and frequent collaboration to execute flawlessly.
Prior experience within the financial services industry and/or experience within a global matrixed organisation is preferred
Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience

This position is hybrid and would require you to work in the office location Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
