Purpose of the job

Provides purchasing support to manufacturing and the Supply Chain Specialists by ensuring all required materials are procured in a timely and cost effective manner as well as ensuring high quality. Ensures annual improvement in the total cost, quality and service for the assigned products. 

Principal activities and duties

• Managing the inventory for products bought from local suppliers.
• Managing purchases for our training center, assembly department, facility and warehouse.
• Accountable for completion of transactional tasks including requests for quotes, placing PO’s, PO maintenance, delivery status…
• Responsible for complete order flow. Accountable for receipt and control of goods delivered, quality and invoice.
• Managing master data related to purchasing (loading costs, sourcing rules…).
• Support cost reduction, lead time reduction and improve quality and inventory turns.
• Maintain beneficial partnerships with local suppliers. Evaluate the supplier’s performance based upon delivery reliability, delivery accuracy and quality.
• Support new product development activities as required.

• Drive continuous improvement in all aspects of the procurement process.
• Back-up commodity buyer in case the commodity buyer is out of office.

Position requirements

Essential:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Materials Management, Supply Chain management or equivalent
• Basic knowledge of purchasing practices
• Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
• Fluent English (spoken and written)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
