This role for Group Lead - Data Scientist is to provide people leadership and analytical support to our business partners in the Wealth Management and Banking and Cash Solutions. The candidate should be hands on in advanced programing, visualization, and Analytics algorithms. The candidate should demonstrate strong technical/problem solving skills, manage multiple projects collaboratively with stakeholder management, manage diversified teams and ensure adherence to enterprise data governance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partners closely with the Business, technology, and Analytics leaders supporting WMS and BCS Line of Business's to plan, design, develop, integrate, and implement the identified analytics solution. Performs hands on advanced programing, visualization, and Analytics algorithms tasks
  • Should be independent in project management, team management and execution
  • Provides input on tool and technology selection and shares evolving best practices
  • Analytical thought leader – participates in discovery sessions to identify opportunities to leverage analytics to automate and enhance business processes
  • Responsible for conventional regression/tree based and Machine Learning algorithm-based model development, and support various advanced analytical solutions 
  • Deliver on advanced analytical requests related to targeting and/or segmentation related problems
  • Solve complex problems; research and bring in new and advanced machine learning concepts; takes a new perspective using existing solutions
  • Support in developing competence by performing structured work assignments. Uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services. Actively drives Strategic decisions
  • Participate in solving multiple complex problems. Mentor junior team members in solving business problems through the use of advanced analytics algorithms

Required Qualifications

  • Engineering (B.E./ B. Tech.) graduate or Masters (Stats, Quant, Mathematics, OR, etc.) from a well-recognized institute
  • 8 - 10 years of experience in advanced analytical skill-oriented work profiles
  • Experience with Finance industry 5+ years, specifically supporting Wealth management, Insurance, Banking, and other investment instruments
  • Experience on working with AWS Cloud framework and associated tools
  • Experience on working in data lake environment
  • Experience in Predictive modeling – Linear / logistic regression, Segmentation, Design of Experiments, Machine Learning, NLP, Geospatial analysis, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills – will be required to liaise with senior US counterparts on a variety of business problems
  • Proven experience of leading projects with multiple stakeholder management, coordination, and collaboration
  • Working experience in Python/R/SAS and SQL with knowledge in DataIku, PowerBI, Tableau, Qlikview and other BI and analytical tools is preferred
  • Prior team management and people leadership exposure
