The opportunity

Within the High Voltage Products Business Unit, the Technology Center Italy plays a key role in the global R&D network, driving the development and optimization of advanced high‑voltage solutions, including Gas-Insulated and Hybrid Switchgear, as well as Instrument Transformers.

In this position, you will be at the core of HV innovation, contributing to product development, technology advancement, and continuous improvement initiatives in a dynamic context characterized by growth and production insourcing. You will leverage your engineering expertise across multiple workstreams to enhance product performance, manufacturability, and eco-efficiency.

How you'll make an impact

  • Provide global technical support to operations, manufacturing, and service teams, ensuring timely and effective solutions throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of engineering calculation and dimensioning tools, offering technical guidance to internal stakeholders.
  • Participate in international R&D projects, supporting the design and introduction of innovative, eco-efficient solutions in both Switchgear and Instrument Transformers.
  • Execute product and process improvement activities, analyzing performance data, identifying root causes, and driving corrective actions in existing and new products.
  • Produce clear and comprehensive technical documentation, including reports, design notes, and presentations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and build a strong international professional network to support ongoing development activities.

Your background

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the design, development, or testing of high‑voltage equipment (e.g., switchgear, HV components, insulation systems, gas‑insulated apparatus) is a strong plus.
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD tools (preferably PTC Creo or similar).
  • Solid understanding of PLM systems (preferably PTC Windchill).
  • Strong communication skills, analytical mindset, and a proactive, multidisciplinary approach to problem solving.
  • Fluent English; Italian proficiency is a plus.
