The Operations group is offering an internship assignment for approximately 3 months, in which the student will report to Industrial Engineering Department and work cross functionally with various operations personnel on a variety of projects.  As an Industrial Engineering Intern, you will support the manufacturing of medical devices, specifically the product lines of AEDs (Automated External Defibrillator), AED electrodes accessories and ventilator accessories at the ZOLL Medical in Deerfield, WI.

This role is primarily responsible for assisting the site by: Continuous improvement of existing production lines including but not limited to improving floor layouts, optimizing available space and improving material flow, creation of work cells to generate expected work output, generation and modification of standard work and creation of job aids/fixtures to improve ergonomics and productivity of operators. 

You must be currently enrolled in a degree program to be considered for the position. This position will be on onsite role from May 2025 - August 2025

•    Ability to work on the production floor approximately 75% of the workday to perform job responsibilities
•    Strong experience and comfortable using powered hand tools daily to perform job responsibilities
•    Demonstrated ability to drive projects to completion and handle multiple tasks
•    Established project management skills
•    Demonstrated ability to complete projects on time and at budget
•    Willing to work for cross functional teams (Manufacturing, Industrial, Quality Engineering and Operations)
•    Demonstrates ability and create and build strong partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives
•    Ability to read and draw floor layout prints using 2D CAD (AutoCAD) as needed
•    Demonstrates the desire and ability to learn and apply Lean and 6 Sigma techniques and methodologies to generate improvements in safety, quality, cost, and delivery metrics
•    Able to organize and present ideas in a convincing and compelling manner
•    Experience working Microsoft Office products is essential
•    Ability to lift and carry 35 lbs
•    Ability to provide own transportation daily, to and from work
•    Ability to travel domestically no more than 5% during work period
•    Working 1st Shift Monday – Friday 8:00AM-4:30PM
•    Responsible for any additional duties associated by work supervisor/manager

Required Education and Work Experience:
•    In pursuit of Bachelor of Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or Engineering Technology or similar
•    Two or more years of education completed with a minimum of 3.0 GPA.
•    Authorized to work in U.S.

Preferred Education and Work Experience
•    Experience working in a manufacturing or production work environment
•    Experience working in a medical device (or similar) regulated industry
•    Ability to design parts, assemblies, and fixtures using 3D CAD (SolidWorks) as needed
