Position Overview:
The Product Data Management (PDM) Senior Business Process Analyst is a strategic role focused on enhancing the management and utilization of product data within an organization. This position requires a deep understanding of business processes, data management, and Lean Six Sigma methodologies. The Senior Business Process Analyst will lead efforts to optimize product data workflows, ensure data quality, and drive process improvements, working closely with various stakeholders including IT, product development, and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Process Optimization:
- Conduct comprehensive analysis of existing product data management processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Design, implement, and refine business processes and workflows to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of product data management.
- Utilize Lean Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements and reduce waste.
2. Data Management and Governance:
- Develop and enforce data governance policies to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity.
- Collaborate with data stewards and IT teams to maintain high-quality data and resolve data-related issues.
- Implement best practices for data management and monitor compliance with data governance standards.
3. System Integration and Management:
- Evaluate and recommend PDM tools and technologies to support business objectives.
- Oversee the integration of PDM systems with other enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, CRM) to ensure seamless data flow.
- Conduct system testing, validation, and troubleshooting to ensure solutions meet business needs.
4. Project Management:
- Lead PDM-related projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
- Monitor project progress, address issues, and communicate status updates to stakeholders.
5. Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as a liaison between business units and IT to gather and translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Facilitate workshops, meetings, and training sessions to ensure stakeholder alignment and system adoption.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to end-users on PDM processes and systems.
6. Reporting and Analytics:
- Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to product data management.
- Analyze data trends and provide actionable insights to support business decisions.
- Prepare and present reports to senior management on project status, process improvements, and data management metrics.
7. Compliance and Best Practices:
- Ensure adherence to industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to product data management.
- Stay informed about emerging trends and technologies in data management and process optimization.
Education Requirements:
1. Bachelor's Degree:
- A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
2. Master’s Degree (Preferred):
- A master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., MBA, MS in Data Science) is preferred and may be advantageous for advanced roles.
3. Certifications: (Preferred)
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt: Required to demonstrate expertise in process improvement and data-driven decision-making.
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP): Preferred to validate business analysis skills and experience.
- Project Management Professional (PMP): Preferred to signify proficiency in project management.
- Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP): Preferred to showcase expertise in data management.
Experience Requirements:
1. Professional Experience:
- A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in business analysis, process improvement, or product data management.
- Proven experience with PDM systems and tools (e.g., PLM software, ERP systems).
2. Lean Six Sigma Experience:
- Demonstrated experience applying Lean Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements and operational efficiency.
3. Project Management Experience:
- Experience managing complex projects related to data management or process optimization is highly valued.

- Strong analytical abilities to assess complex business processes, identify issues, and develop effective solutions.
2. Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with PDM and PLM systems, databases, and data analysis tools.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with stakeholders, creating documentation, and presenting findings.

- Effective problem-solving skills with a focus on developing practical solutions to enhance business processes.
5. Project Management:
- Ability to manage multiple projects, coordinate resources, and meet deadlines.
6. Process Improvement:
- Expertise in applying Lean Six Sigma principles to achieve measurable improvements in business processes.
