Position overview

The SAP FI‑CO Manager serves as both a people manager and functional leader for the Finance & Controlling capability within Convatec’s SAP ecosystem. This role is responsible for:

• Managing a medium-sized team (5–8) of SAP FI‑CO consultants.

• Driving functional excellence across FI, CO, and integrated processes.

• Owning delivery, governance, and continuous improvement of SAP FI‑CO solutions.

• Ensuring alignment between Business, IT, and Global Process Owners.

• Leading strategic initiatives, enhancements, and project activities across the global landscape.

This hybrid role blends management responsibilities with functional leadership, ensuring the FI‑CO team executes with quality, consistency, and efficiency.

• Serves as a subject matter expert associated with content, processes & procedures associated with most SAP FICO modules i.e. Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), General Ledger Accounting (GL), Enterprise Controlling (CO), Asset Management, Treasury, Financial Statements and/or Project Systems, etc.

• Analyse business/technical requirements & translate process into practice through the current SAP application functionality. Configure SAP FICO systems to meet client business requirements, including connection points with SAP SD, MM and other modules, legacy systems, and implementation of SAP best practices.

• Develop, prototype, test & implement solution improvements to increase stability, usability, and functionality to enable end users to meet business objectives.

• Understand non-SAP business systems and their interaction with SAP. Assist in the management of those systems as part of a Finance Systems management portfolio.

• Work with other IT personnel on any configuration change affecting areas outside of SAP’s FI-CO module and perform rigorous testing.

Key requirements

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in SAP, specifically in the FI-CO modules.
• 3+ years in people management or team lead role (5–8 team members).
• Expertise in SAP FI-CO configurations, including integration with other SAP modules.
• Experienced with all aspects of SAP Implementation process: Business process analysis, System configuration, Testing, Documentation, End-user training, and Production support.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.
• Ability to work collaboratively with business users and technical teams to identify and resolve issues.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Education/ Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in business, information technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
