General Job Summary
The Accounts Payable Associate Manager will provide support to the Accounts Payable Manager as needed and will oversee decisions about daily departmental workflow. Ensure invoices and payments are processed timely by utilizing JDA/JDE software. Reliability, trustworthiness, and proficiency in accounting software will be essential in performing the duties of this position effectively.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Oversee orientation and development of new team members ensuring accuracy and efficiency in payment processing and data entry.
• Review and approve associate time cards in Workday.
• Identify and address performance gaps for associates.
• Support the implementation and improvement of accounts payable processes, procedures, and systems.
• Monitor vendor statements and aging reports, proactively encouraging associates to resolve outstanding items.
• Coordinate communications with associates, vendors, stores and other departments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including purchasing and vendors, to resolve payment-related issues and inquiries.
• Build positive inter-departmental relationships.
• Monitor the care of complex vendor accounts to maintain positive relationships with suppliers.
• Facilitate balancing of Ace statements weekly. This includes reviewing for coding corrections, proper matching, and resolving any discrepancies.
• Research returned checks and determine cause/appropriate next steps.
• Coordinate processing of company expenses as well as update and distribute the internal expense/ check request forms as needed.
• Monitor and resolve issues from the unmatched and open receiver reports weekly. Develop and maintain proactive process of identifying and resolving issues.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures, including accruals, journal entries, and 1099 processing.
• Reconcile accounts payable subledger to general ledger monthly.
• Other accounting duties as needed.

Minimum Skills, Requirements and Qualifications
• High School diploma or GED is required; some college-level Accounting courses desired.
• Minimum five years’ experience in Accounts Payable.
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable principles, processes and, best practices.
• Willing to work additional hours as needed.
• Proficiency with MS Office with strong Excel skills, i.e ability to work with large amounts of data using filters, vlookups and other Excel tools.
• Ability to prioritize a high-volume workload efficiently and meet deadlines while maintaining a culture of excellence.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills as well as attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
• Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be a self-starter with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Standing, walking, lifting (up to 25lbs.) and climbing.
Compensation Details
$50000 - $60000 / year
