Purpose Statement:
To ensure the administration of salaries. Paying employees accurately and on time within company guidelines, ensuring all systems and processes are adhered to. Dealing with all queries effectively and delivering a high level of customer service to employees, budget holders and accountants within service level guidelines.
Responsible for performance of transaction based accounting and financial operations which may include intercompany receivables/payables and payroll processing and record keeping of cost and general payroll deduction activities.
Work is generally of critical/confidential nature.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administrates the payment of salaries for designated sections of employees from start to finish in accordance with Company policy, Ireland legislation and transmitted by agreed & published deadlines. Maintains close working relationships with both site BHR and HR service centre.
- Point of contact within payroll team to address any payroll or time related queries of urgent nature. Site liaison for payroll time and attendance system and maintains knowledge of payroll platform including the creation and distribution of agreed monthly reports to include Payroll Journal postings, Inter Company Billings and site-specific documentation required by other areas of the business or process.
- Maintains knowledge of Income tax, PRSI, PPS, social insurance regulations etc. to ensure deductions are correctly executed and acts as liaison with Revenue and other Government departments.
- Ensures housekeeping, archiving and files, both electronic & paper, are maintained and auditable.
- Communicates with internal/external customers if needed to gather/provide required information.
- Generates and files required documentation to support accurate financial and accounting records.
- Performs reconciliation of accounting data, VHI returns.
- Assists other areas of Finance as assigned by supervisor/manager.
- Carries out other tasks and duties as and when required.
Education and Job Skills:
- (Experience/Education) Preferably a Business-related cert/diploma or an Accounting Technician/Payroll qualification or similar, as this would provide a good foundation for this position. 2+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- (Technical/Business Knowledge (Job Skills)) Experience using the full Microsoft Office suite.
- (Cognitive Skills) Ability to multitask and prioritise an everchanging workload under pressure and immovable deadlines. Make recommendations for continuous quality improvement.
