Sales Associate Part-Time - Wayfair Stores

Location: Wilmette, IL

The pay for this position is $17/hr

Brief Overview of Position 

Wayfair is looking for motivated individuals to join our sales/customer focus team who are passionate and relentlessly focused on boosting sales, building personalized connections, and creating an environment that invites and inspires our customers. This role involves supporting customers throughout their entire journey at Wayfair, from engaging with them on the sales floor and handling product inquiries to processing orders and returns, resolving issues, and collaborating closely with leadership to implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Functions 

  • Engage and connect with customers and drive sales by asking thoughtful questions to understand their needs and style, guiding them through their questions, and providing the best options for their homes.
  • Become an expert of Wayfair products and services to help guide customers through their questions & provide product options both in store and online through our endless aisle and store application.
  • Demonstrate confidence in closing the sale and educating customers on various ways to purchase including through POS, Online, our App or through a Quote.
  • Collaborate effectively in all operational aspects of the store, including but not limited to: processing new products, floor sets, replenishment, backfill substitutions, and general upkeep of the store, assist customers with carry outs & in-store pickup processes, cancellations, and cart retrieval.
  • Bring a willingness to share innovative ideas and solutions to continuously improve team operations.
  • Engage in a high energy, focused and dynamic work environment where there can be rapid changes in products, promotions, and operations.

Experience Qualifications

  • 6+ months of retail sales experience (preferably in a design related environment). Interior design, specialty sales experience a plus

Skills and Abilities 

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays. (Required)
  • Strong technical acumen to learn necessary software and hardware; proficiency in operating & navigating mobile applications, handheld tablets, inventory devices and POS systems. (Required)
  • Strong sales, organization, self-motivation, communication and relationship management skills.
  • Possess excellent time management, multi-tasking, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
