We engineer, build, and operate a global private cloud infrastructure powered by Openstack, Kubernetes, and NetApp that supports applications used for numerous internal and external Verizon networks. In this role you will Independently lead requirements, analysis, design and development effort for Verizon's Automation platform for managing End-to-End Onboarding Lifecycle for Virtual Network Functions/Cloud-Native Network Functions as well as Verizon's configuration automation platform for managing manual task and configuration automations pre/post deployments.
Support the Verizon Cloud infrastructure for any issue that occurs in Openstack , network and infrastrcture related issues which includes troubleshooting in hardware related issues.
Working directly with Virtualized Network Function and other application teams to evaluate their cloud hosting requirements and provide them with necessary resources.
Evaluating forecasts and tenant onboarding requests for maximizing the efficient use of Verizon Cloud Platform infrastructure and life cycle management.
Collecting data related to system problems, analyzing it, and developing resolutions.
Maintaining functional and technical requirements, analyzing hardware/software features and improvements, and understanding system architectures, system operations, end-to-end designs, and device-system interactions.
Interpreting industry standards to ensure the integrity of our platform engineering designs and vetting all methods of procedures (MOPs) to ensure technical standards are met.
Assisting in planning, designing, equipment selection, staging, testing, and integration of new system hardware, software, and virtualized functions of the cloud.
Partnering with various HQ departments in technology trials, interoperability tests, run first office applications.
Participating in vendor evaluations, and performing evaluations and quality control analysis.
Coordinating multiple large-scale, complex platforms and providing third-tier support functions.

You work effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, and you’re phenomenal at partnering with the groups you support. Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience, preferable in computer or telecom background
Four or more years of relevant work experience with Redhat Openstack
Wireless industry experience.
Experience with Red Hat Linux, virtualization (KVM), Kubernetes, OpenShift
Experience with cloud infrastructure , design and manage
Experience with automation using Python, bash, JSON, YAML, REST, or Ansible.
Schedule Flexibility as there will be work to be performed off hours.
Must have support operation experience in handling tickets and resolve issues
Experience with Management and Orchestration (NFVi or Resource Orchestration).
Experience with OpenStack (RHEL Director) and OpenStack services (Horizon, Nova, Neutron, Keystone, Ceilometer, Glance, Heat, Cinder/Swift, or Ceph).
Project/vendor management experience.
Experience with QCOW2 or RAW images.
Experience with TCP/IP, Routing and OSI 7-layer protocol.
Experience with Server Load Balancing (SLB).
Experience with IMS and/or VoLTE.
Experience with network automation and deployment methods, managing data center elements, hardware, software, and power requirements, and coordinating vendors.
Additional roles
* Should be flexible to work in shifts on need basis such as 1week bi monthly
* Meet with clients both internally and externally to discuss the requirements of their cloud computer needs, developing a list of requirements and offering recommendations and advising clients based on their knowledge of existing systems.
* Evaluate and develop the various cloud-based systems and platforms, determining the software specifications and establishing the new environment within the company.
* Migrate or integrate existing systems into the new cloud-based environment, determining the process of decommissioning the old systems while maintaining any required services.
* Performing tests, proof of concepts, and FOAs validate the functionality of the software components and certify its use in production.
* Install, configure, and maintain the cloud-based systems, enhancing the overall performance and determining methods for automating the processes.
