We are now offering an exceptional opportunity for motivated Imaging team members to grow their careers through our Nuclear Medicine Technologist in Training role.

This on-the-job training position is designed for imaging professionals who are pursuing a specialty within one of five advanced modalities: CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, or Interventional Radiology. This posting is specific to Nuclear Medicine at Intermountain Medical Center.

About the Role

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist in Training will develop specialty competency while performing high-quality imaging procedures using independent decision-making and problem-solving skills. With structured clinical experience, mentorship, and hands-on learning, the incumbent will become proficient in:

• Comprehensive patient care
• The safe and effective use of ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes
• Performing exams that support accurate diagnoses and excellent patient outcomes

Essential Functions

• Maintain ARRT or modality-specific competency in all clinical and technical functions
• Ensure accurate patient identification, order verification, and patient preparation
• Perform Nuclear Medicine exams according to departmental protocols and review images for quality, clarity, and accuracy
• Adhere strictly to radiation safety guidelines and maintain a safe clinical environment
• Complete studies within established timeframes without compromising quality or patient care
• Provide patient education, promote comfort, and address patient questions and concerns
• Practice appropriate infection control and sterile techniques
• Operate imaging equipment and related information systems to ensure high-quality diagnostic results
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient information, procedures, and any adverse reactions
• Follow established protocols related to medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, quality control programs, and equipment issue reporting

Minimum Qualifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers
• Utah Radiology Technologist license
• One of the following:
  • Currently attending and receiving formal training from an accredited program OR
  • Successful completion of formal training from an approved/accredited school OR
  • Licensed ARRT(R) technologist selected to cross-train in another modality
