Job Description

The Shipping Associate Team Leader will support the Team Leader in providing overall management and supervision of the Shipping Team while developing their own knowledge, skills and abilities. This is a working position that will perform all the functions assigned by the Team Leader including selection, pallet consolidation, unloading/loading of product, customer service, assisting with warehouse work, supporting all DC programs and upholding regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities
•    Interview, select, train, develop, and counsel Team Members in a manner that is conducive for building and sustaining a high performing team, and minimizes turnover.
•    Ensure that all Team Members are following the training program, including monitoring progress and processing all required paperwork.
•    Establish and maintain a positive work environment, which sustains an exceptionally high level of Team Member morale.
•    Select and develop Team Members as potential leaders.
•    Provide timely, thorough, and thoughtful Job Dialogues.
•    Communicate and maintain employee safety and security standards.
•    Manage team operations to meet Whole Foods Market quality standards, maintain competitive pricing and achieve targeted productivity.
•    Establish and maintain collaborative and productive working relationship with Facility Team, Team Leaders, and all Team Members.
•    Confer with Facility Team Leader and other Team Leaders to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with other activities such as receiving, IC, Flow, sanitation, maintenance, order management, purchasing, accounting and TMS.
•    Model and cultivate effective inter-department and inter-facility communication.
•    Ensure Team Members receive accurate paychecks and timely benefits.
•    Thorough and complete documentation in support of Team Member discipline and counseling activities.
•    Maintain comprehensive knowledge of, and ensure compliance with relevant regularity rules and standards, including: OSHA, FMLA, HACCP, FSMA, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Department of Labor, Health and Sanitation, FDA, Department of Agriculture, Weights and Measures.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
•    Ability to effectively use Microsoft Word and Excel, EXE, and PeopleSoft
•    Outstanding communication skills
•    Passion for all WFM policies and procedures and thorough product knowledge
•    Ability to provide excellent customer service
•    Phenomenal time management skills
•    High attention to detail and thoroughness in approach with all paperwork
•    Comprehensive knowledge of computers and systems
•    Proper use of knives, personal protective equipment, forklift, pallet jacks, hand trucks, baler and all other equipment used within the Distribution Center.
•    Ability to work well with others, self-motivated and capable of working independently with little supervision. Able to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the Distribution Center, including nights, weekends and holidays as required

Desired Work Experiences
•    Previous Distribution Center management experience preferred
•    2 years Distribution Center experience"

The wage range for this position is $28.00 - $50.33 Hourly, commensurate with experience. Whole Foods Market offers “Whole Benefits".
