Job Description
Project Engineer – Mechanical
Pune/Noida - India
As a Project Engineer – Mechanical you will be responsible to working on the engineering of MV/LV Motor Control Centres (MCCs) and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), customizing as per customer requirement utilizing the Creo and CAD tools, provide support to the manufacturing plants of Rockwell Automation. This role reports to Team Lead/ Execution Manager and is part of Global Engineering & Business Services group in India, catering to regional Rockwell Automation offices. It’s a hybrid work environment working in 12:00pm to 9:00 pm shift located in Pune/Noida - India.
Your Responsibilities:
- Execute CTO/ETO projects within defined timelines, ensuring high quality engineering with customer satisfaction, while leveraging standard and reusable engineering practices
- Work closely with internal and external customers to review requirements and deliver customized technical solutions that comply with Mechanical standards and Rockwell Automation’s engineering practices, ensuring successful project outcomes
- Coordinate overall Order execution activities, maintaining accurate documentation, fostering effective collaboration, and resolving technical deficiencies
- Serve as a technical expert for MV/LV products, providing robust technical solutions, addressing queries, and ensuring smooth information flow across stakeholders
- Remotely supporting Continuation engineering and Field support activities
- Continuously enhance technical expertise and share best practices with team members, supporting capability development and other initiatives
- Ensure strict adherence to international engineering standards (NEC, UL, CSA, IEC) by consistently applying them throughout order execution activities
The Essentials - You Will Have:
- Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering
- Relevant Experience of 3-5 years in Enclosure design for MV/LV MCC or other Electromechanical products involving Sheetmetal component designs.
- Knowledge of Electrical products and Automation Engineering will be added advantage
- Expertise of mechanical CAD software PTC Creo
- Working knowledge of System Designing and use of GD & T, Manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of mechanical design concepts and welding symbols along with Welding processes
- BOM management in the SAP
- In depth knowledge of International Standards used for Design and Manufacturing
- Good communication skills in English (Written and Verbal).
- Good knowledge of Quality management systems, processes and compliance.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
- Gone through complete project life cycle from design phase to commissioning
- Good Command on SAP Documentation and Part Management using SAP or relevant PDM tools
- Industry Knowledge, Application Knowledge, Training Skills, and basic understanding of Lean Six Sigma Skill, EHS (Environment, Health & Safety)
- Good understanding of manufacturing engineering activities like operation sequence, Material selection, bend allowance and use of NC’s for sheet metal parts manufacturing
- Exposure to Global Stakeholders/Customers is preferrable
- Exposure of reading schematics, OLD, ELD’s
- Knowledge of FEA tools like Ansys for Structural or Thermal simulations along with engineering calculations.
