Our Healthcare Group (HCG) is seeking a Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Analyst to work closely with HCG’s Senior Management team in continuing the company’s successful M&A activity. Reporting initially to the VP M&A, this position will play a key role in identifying, evaluating, and closing acquisition opportunities.

The ideal candidate is inherently curious, has mature interpersonal skills and has meticulous attention-to-detail. Prior M&A experience is an asset. Knowledge of software is also an asset.

The preference is for a candidate in Niagara Falls, NY, Denver, CO, or Ottawa, ON (where our senior leaders are located) however very strong remote candidates across North America will be considered.

What your impact will be:

M&A Execution

  • After learning our business model and processes, you will lead acquisition transactions from initial evaluation through to integration handoff
  • You will be responsible for financial modeling, due diligence (including project managing our functional and business unit teams), negotiation, investment approval and post-close monitoring for multiple M&A transactions per year
  • Preparing business summaries, investment memos, commentary, and responding to detailed Q&A from our internal stakeholders

M&A Business Development

  • Directly solicit and engage companies for acquisition: identify, research, and cold call target companies
  • Work with our multiple M&A business development specialists to ensure acquisition opportunities are being effectively nurtured and appropriately escalated to the M&A team.
  • Maintain relationships with HCG’s existing network of acquisition targets and intermediaries through telephone calls and emails

Other

  • Internal reporting on pre-close acquisition activity and pipeline, post-close acquisition performance
  • Some travel required (10-25%) pending travel restrictions being lifted

What we are looking for:

  • 1-5 years of direct experience in a similar role, corporate finance, investment analysis or M&A activity; new graduates should also consider applying
  • Self-started with exceptional organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Undergraduate degree in business or finance, or a Master of Business Administration (MBA)
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel

What will make you stand out:

  • Experience with software M&A
  • Volunteer experience
  • Fluency in a language other than English

What we can offer:

  • 3 weeks' vacation and 5 personal days

  • Comprehensive Medical, Dental and Vision coverage from your first day of employment

  • Employee stock ownership and 401k / RRSP matching programs

  • Lifestyle rewards

  • Flexible work options
