Are you ready for an exciting Float Pool opportunity? Join our dynamic WellStar Enterprise Support Team (WEST) and play a vital role in ensuring seamless staffing across WellStar facilities! As a member of the WEST Team, you’ll have the chance to float to various Emergency Departments where your skills are most needed.

As an Emergency Department (ED) Tech Level I, you’ll be a multi-skilled caregiver under the guidance of a Registered Nurse.

Core Responsibilities:

Patient Care:

  • Document and report vital signs

  • Conduct 12-lead EKGs and blood sugar tests

  • Apply splints and assist with ambulation

  • Perform oral suctioning and wound care

Aseptic Procedures:

  • Urethral catheterization and sterile tray preparation

  • Dressing applications and phlebotomy

Tele-sitter Liaison:

  • Manage tele-sitter carts and ensure connectivity

  • Conduct safety checks and respond to escalation needs

Patient Transport:

  • Safely transport patients, supplies, and medications

Monitoring:

  • Observe cardiac monitors for arrhythmias

  • Document patient observations as per policy

General Duties:

  • Ensure the patient care area is stocked and organized

  • Comply with all WellStar Health System policies and standards

Required Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Experience: Minimum of 2 years in direct patient care in an Emergency Department

Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication

  • Ability to work collaboratively and take initiative

  • Competence in obtaining vital signs manually

Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
