A global trade analyst is a professional who specializes in analysing and evaluating international trade patterns, trends, and policies. Their main role is to provide insights and recommendations to organizations, governments, and businesses involved in international trade.

About the Role

In this opportunity as a Content Analyst, you will: 

  • Research, interpret, and apply laws and regulations.
  • Monitor publications to stay abreast of changes in laws and regulations.
  • May correspond with state and local authorities.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze multi-state tax returns (Tax & Accounting only).
  • Review and interpret complex financial or legal data.
  • Analyze and prepare responses to customer issues involving areas of responsibility.
  • Communicate verbally and in writing with taxing jurisdictions. Submit notice and backup documentation to be imaged and indexed (Tax & Accounting only).
  • Analyze, develop, document and follow-up on plans. Interpretation of correspondence received from jurisdictions and related reports.
  • Respond to jurisdiction e-mails and calls. Prioritize, document, resolve or assign in the client log.
  • Responsible for building and maintaining positive relationships with assigned jurisdictions related to tax return filing.
  • Analyze and validate data to support global trade operations with accuracy and with strict deadlines.
  • Establish communication channels with different customs offices to request information concerning import and export regulations.
  • Data Analysis: Collecting and analysing data related to international trade, such as import/export volumes, tariff rates, quotas, trade agreements, and economic indicators. This involves utilizing statistical methods, data visualization tools, and software to identify patterns, trends, and insights.
  • Conduct tariff research of different countries to check amendments publish by government on trade tariffs, policies, FTA agreements, rules, and regulations.
  • Continuous Learning and Skill Development: Continuously upgrading skills in data analysis, economic analysis, market research methodologies, and trade-related topics. Learning about new tools, technologies, and industry trends to improve analysis capabilities and stay ahead in the field.

About You

You’re a fit if your background includes:

  • Bachelors in economics, international business, trade, finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • · Strong quantitative and analytical skills are necessary to gather, analyse, and interpret trade data and utilizing data visualization tools. Proficiency in statistical analysis, data visualization, and using software tools such as Excel, statistical software, and databases is important.
  • · Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • · Ability to communicate effectively with team members, contacts from external teams.
  • · Ability to work independently under strict deadlines and balance competing priorities.
  • · Knowledge of Microsoft office and specifically Excel is must.
  • Track customs updates from different countries.
