  • Support the design and implementation of supply chain projects across our network of distribution centers.
  • Design will include updating 2D AutoCad layouts for the warehouse and offices
  • Project Management for all design/build activities.  This includes creating and managing a project plan.
  • Coordination with vendors on quotes, scheduling, and installation activities
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Warehouse experience with warehouse flow, conveyor, racking, construction, warehouse design, and basic warehouse maintenance
  • Required to attend all daily and weekly status meetings
  • Collaborate cross functionality and with third party consultants on the transformation initiatives.
  • Collaborate with DC associates, management, senior leaders, and consultants to drive successful design, implementation, and sustainability of supply chain solutions.
  • Document business requirements, functional and system design, processes and procedures.
  • Identifies key barriers/core problems and applies problem solving skills in order to deal creatively with complex solutions.
  • Understanding of city requirements for hazmat storage, high pile, racking calc packages, and construction permitting
  • Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems. Makes decisions under conditions of uncertainty, sometimes with incomplete information, that produce effective end results.
  • Independently performs assignments with instruction limited to the expected results. Determines and develops an approach to solutions. Receives technical guidance only on unusual or complex problems or issues.
  • Required to be onsite at the facility during certain parts of the project.
  • Working with the vendors on all permitting requirements
  • Create excel files for bins locations for labeling, system updating, and other teams

 

Education and experience:

  • BS/BA in Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field
  • Knowledge of WMS
  • 3-5 years of experience in a related field
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Intermediate 2D AutoCad experience
  • Project Management experience

 

Travel

  • 75%
  • Weekend and evening shift may be required during parts of a project

Job Summary

Facilitates the flow of materials through the supply chain. Develops new tools and processes to support supply chain goals and objectives, including creating metrics and monthly supplier scorecards. Partners with management to improve supply chain performance and enhance collaboration with suppliers. Identifies problems through analysis and creates sustainable solutions on supply chain strategies.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

  • Develops new forecasting, order replenishment, and logistics channel decision processes.
  • Analyzes and gathers supply chain best practices and develops strategies in support of supply chain business case development. Conducts day-to-day business analyses in support of supply chain activities.
  • Partners with stakeholders and leadership to improve supply chain performance and collaboration with suppliers. Establishes methods for delivering monthly supplier updates.
  • Supports all central replenishment activities, including meeting with vendors to collaborate inventory forecasting and replenishment strategies.
  • Creates supply chain metrics, identifies methods for evaluating supply chain metrics, and audits supply chain data.
  • Partners with merchants to plan for promotions, price changes, and exit strategies.
  • Develops decision support tools and financial models to analyze the cost/benefit tradeoffs of inventory. Analyzes multi-tier distribution channels to determine cost and service level tradeoffs for product categories. Develops forecasting tools to support collaborative planning with merchandising suppliers.

Nature and Scope

  • Demonstrates skill in data analysis techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information and inconsistencies/anomalies in more complex research/data.
  • Nature of work requires increasing independence; receives guidance only on unusual, complex problems or issues. Work review typically involves periodic review of output by a supervisor and/or direct customers of the process.
  • May provide general guidance/direction to or train junior level support or professional personnel.

Work Environment

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Education and Experience

  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 2-5 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 2-4 years of experience in a related field. Certification is required in some areas.
