The role will have ownership of platforms across Asia with a focus on transformation which includes planning and establishing new platforms with the team, driving engineering,  automation capability uplift, and oversee execution of key deliveries as required. The role will lead a team of platform owners, engineers in in multiple geographies.

• A strong knowledge of IT, applications development and project management is essential

• Strong knowledge of software engineering – architecture, design and development

• Strong knowledge and practical understanding of software development methodology

• Strong project management skill, including prioritization, planning and organization

• Good understanding of insurance  business and processes

• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Develop needs analyses of product/projects, identify potential solutions and vendors, create requests for proposals, coordinate evaluation of proposals, and facilitate decisions

• Prepare project scope and develop project plans, including project tasks, resource, allocation, timelines, and deliverables.

• Partner with architects and designers to develop development guidelines and standards

• Manage application development & maintenance outsourcing & software contract agreements

• Establish delivery processes with ASC or 3rd parties to ensure timely and quality delivery

• Implement and monitor standards around scope management, financial management, service level agreements (SLA)

• Ensure compliance to internal and external procedures to mitigate risk, increase service/business

Qualifications (heading) / Compétences (titre)

• Overall 18+ years of experience in IT with at least 5+ years at senior levels of IT management

• Proven experience of delivering mid-large size enterprise grade application in Financial services organization

• Experience in multiple technical platforms, operating systems, databases and development languages

• A proven track record of migrating significant legacy IT applications and tools to modern, cloud-first architectures

• Drive development and delivery of regional applications in the region.

• Define enabling architecture and implementation roadmaps

• Create and own the strategic vision for the regional applications

• Own the solution and design of the application and ensure configurability is an important element of design

• Drive the architecture and product teams to craft highly scalable, flexible and resilient solutions.

• Drive the identification and selection of technology as required for the application. Ensure technology gets approved through the architecture governance process

• Develop and own test automation strategy of regional application and drive software engineering excellence.

• Identify and drive optimization and redesign opportunities for applications – from a functional, technical and development process standpoint.

• Building a strong technical culture around systems that encourages technical excellence, strong security, and enables user experiences.
