Job Description

Job title: Head of Business Development

 

Your new role

As head of business development, you’ll be the driving force behind Global’s cross channel growth across audio, outdoor and Your role is outward-facing, focused on building meaningful client and agency relationships, uncovering new opportunities, and delivering client-led, commercially effective solutions.

You’ll be at the forefront of taking ALL Global products to market, bringing strategic thinking, energy and insight to every conversation.  You’ll work closely with all Global commercial department leaders, specialist teams and internal collaborators, with an entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for building and maintaining strong relationships.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Work effectively with all Global commercial department leaders to successfully plan and implement a strategy to drive overall revenue growth for your agency group across all revenue streams, Partnerships, Audio, Digital and Outdoor

  • Understand the key challenges and issues our customers (including outdoor specialists) face and ensure that you are helping to provide solutions to these challenges to ensure we are perceived as a key partner to our customers.  

  • Develop and implement a growth strategy.

  • Deliver exceptional customer service and support the agency teams as required to ensure the smooth running of the day-to-day business to include forecasting on a three-monthly rolling basis, and running business planning meetings on a regular basis, Understand the challenges of each patch and support to business growth.

  • Develop influential relationships with senior stakeholders across your agencies and specialists.

  • To be a trusted and highly respected Global ambassador, to be viewed as a senior leader within Global and to be an architect in the shaping of the Global commercial culture as a fully integrated team. 

Revenue & Growth

  • Work effectively with all Global commercial department leaders to successful plan and implement a strategy to drive overall revenue growth for your agency group across all revenue streams, audio, digital, partnerships, outdoor.

  • Understand the key challenges and issues our customers face and ensure that you are helping to provide solutions to these challenges, to ensure we are perceived as a key partner to our customers.

  • Through commercial acumen and analysis understand your agencies revenue performance metrics

  • Support the team on commercial strategy, account development and campaign optimistion.

Agency Relationships

  • To be a trusted and highly respected Global ambassador, to be viewed as a senior leader within Global and build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with key agency contacts

  • Develop influential relationships with senior stakeholders across your agencies and specialists.

  • Influence media planning decisions and become a consultative partner for audio and outdoor expertise

  • Lead agency inspiration sessions to showcase Global’s portfolio, innovations and new opportunities.

Insight & Innovation

  • Champion Global  by sharing insight, performance data, and case studies to inspire investment.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop insight-led responses to brief and new revenue initiatives.

Collaboration & Delivery

  • Work closely with specialists across planning, digital, creative and operations to deliver outstanding client campaigns.

  • Work closely with all colleagues to ensure we are maximizing opportunities across all revenue streams

  • Proven ability in working alongside large, muliti-disciplined sales teams and delivering business growth.

Forecasting & Pipeline

  • Maintain a clear and accurate pipeline via Salesforce — forecasting performance by week and month and identifying trends.

  • Have a clearly defined and workable business plan for your portfolio

  • Be accountable for revenue targets and performance metrics.

What Success Looks Like

  • Deliver Revenue and product mix targets across all products

  • Demonstrate sales success, through growth, retention and acquisition, and awareness of conversion rates.

  • Identifying client opportunities and action  accordingly

  • Building strong relationships with agency and client partners with high engagement scores in agency media owner surveys and individual feedback. 

  • Identify work for future awards, and work with globallers to deliver case studies and award entries. 

  • Identify cross channel client briefs and work alongside the team to deliver commercially strong pitch proposals.

  • Work closely with Group strategist on client engagement and take an active part in organising and developing client inspiration days.

  • Demonstrate a strong working relationship with heads of audio and outdoor  to build profitable and sustainable client contracts/ opportunities.  

 

What You’ll Need

  • A passion for media, with knowledge of  audio, outdoor or digital and understand the evolving digital and agency landscape.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills — confident, credible and persuasive.

  • A track record in commercial roles — either media sales or agency-side.

  • A collaborative mindset with a proactive, can-do attitude.

  • Confidence using insight and data to shape commercial stories and recommendations.

  • Strong organisational skills — able to manage competing priorities and deliver against deadlines.
