Job Summary

As part of the Financial Planning & Analysis team, the Financial Analyst contributes to activities that drive growth and optimal financial outcomes. The Financial Analyst plays an important role in assisting with the company's short-term and long-term financial forecasting, and key initiatives. This role requires a self-motivated professional who is comfortable working with cross functional teams in a fast-paced environment. This is a visible role that will participate in providing analytical support that helps drive strategic growth for the organization.

In addition, the Financial Analyst will work with individuals from product and sales for pricing of products, new product initiatives, financial modeling & forecasting, and may help to negotiate customer deals.

Responsibilities

  • Performance Measurement – Participate in the design & tracking of key performance indicators, creating budget vs. actual flux analyses, financial statement analysis, identifying trends / business drivers, & internal benchmarking

  • Financial Reporting – Draft ongoing management reporting for Executives / Board of Directors / internal stakeholders; Assemble and summarize data to structure sophisticated reports on financial status and risks.

  • Budgeting / Forecasting / Planning – Provide analytical and business support for Director of FP&A including financial statement analysis, gross margin analysis, financial modeling, business performance commentary, forecasting, trend identification, and strategic planning.

  • Automate and innovate key processes in Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project and implement s that conform to best practices that drive efficiency.

  • Ad-Hoc Analyses/Investment Decision Support – Serve as Finance subject matter resource on key projects, perform Capital Budgeting evaluations (NPV, ROI, IRR)

Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or related field, or equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years of experience in related, progressive roles in finance.

  • Advanced Excel skills

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications

  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

  • Ability to work with large datasets

  • Strategic thinking and organizational skills

  • Proven analytical and communication skills

  • Ability to evaluate financial data and identify business trends

  • Experience developing dynamic financial and operational models

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Healthcare IT experience

  • Working knowledge of VBA, Power Query and Power BI

  • Statistical analysis skills

Location: Open to candidates in the DC, MD, or VA area. Work from home Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday. Work in the Crystal City, Arlington, VA office with the FP&A team on Wednesdays.

At Surescripts, base pay is one part of our Total Rewards Package (which may also include bonus, benefits etc.) and is determined within a range. The base pay range for this position is $76,600 - $93,600 per year. Your base pay may vary within or outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including (but not limited to) your qualifications, skills, experience, and location.
