A Brief Overview:
As an Exercise Physiologist, you will play a critical role in helping patients with cardiovascular conditions improve their physical health and overall well-being. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to design and implement exercise programs tailored to each patient's unique needs and medical history. Your expertise will contribute to the recovery and maintenance of cardiac patients, promoting heart health and a better quality of life.

What you will do:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' cardiovascular fitness, including exercise tolerance, strength, flexibility, and overall physical condition.
  • Develop individualized exercise plans based on patients' medical history, clinical data, and rehabilitation goals.
  • Lead and supervise exercise sessions for patients in the cardiac rehabilitation program, ensuring safety and proper technique.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs, symptoms, and responses to exercise during sessions, making adjustments as needed.
  • Educate patients on cardiovascular disease risk factors, lifestyle modifications, and the importance of adherence to exercise programs.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and progress.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting assessments, progress, and any changes in treatment plans.
  • Stay informed about the latest developments in exercise physiology and cardiac rehabilitation to provide evidence-based care.
  • Assist in the development of educational materials and resources for patients and their families.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and program development to enhance the effectiveness of the cardiac rehabilitation program.

What you will need:
  • Bachelors Degree Physiological Psychology Required Or
  • Masters Degree Physiological Psychology Required
  • 1 Year of experience in a multi-phase cardiopulmonary rehabilitation program, including developing exercise prescription.
  • Certification as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CEP) or Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist (RCEP) preferred Required And
  • CPR or BLS - American Heart Association (AHA) Current CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Required
