Circle K’s Global Tax team is looking for an experienced Tax Manager being responsible for the tax matters of Circle K’s fuel trading company CKETS. The work location for this position can be established in Riga (Latvia), Dublin (Ireland) or The Hague (The Netherlands) based on the candidates preference and company fit.x

To strengthen our Global tax team, we are looking for a dedicated Tax Manager to join our team. You will be responsible for a wide range of direct and indirect tax related tasks related to the European fuel trading activities of CKETS based in Geneva, Switzerland. Circle K invites passionate candidates to apply for this impactful and challenging position.
 

You will work closely with the fuel trading team based in Geneva, Global Tax team members based throughout Europe and with finance employees in our Shared Service office in Riga, Latvia.
 

Your responsibilities:

  • Collaborate in the Global Tax team to devise efficient solutions aligned with group tax strategies for you area;
  • Advise CKETS trading team on the direct and indirect tax impacts of the fuel trading operations;
  • Oversee the VAT filing process, coordinating with service providers and ensuring local VAT filing compliance;
  • Manage local CIT processes and calculations (including quarterly CIT provision for Group tax reporting), oversee CIT filings and ensure alignment between local teams, shared service center and the Global tax team;
  • Verification of contracts and business projects for their compliance with tax law provisions;
  • Stay updated on tax regulations and share knowledge with accounting, business and tax teams;
  • Assist on the preparation of local TP documentation, CbC and foreign affiliate tax filing;
  • Act as the primary contact for tax authorities, overseeing local tax audits (CIT/VAT) and other inquiries, cooperating with statutory auditors and tax advisors on tax matters;
  • Proactively identify initiatives to mitigate local risks or capture opportunities, engaging in projects aimed at enhancing tax effectiveness and optimizing local tax processes;
  • Support global projects, ensuring proper consideration of local tax implications and company’s tax policies, optimize tax processes in line with local requirements, and cultivate a strong local finance network for efficient tax processes.


The context you will work in:

  • You are responsible for all European tax matters of CKETS;
  • Your permanent working location is Riga (Latvia), Dublin (Ireland) or The Hague (The Netherlands). Periodical travel is expected;
  • You will be part of the Global Tax team, representing all tax affairs of  CKETS, and reporting to the Senior Tax Manager based in Dublin, Ireland. Furthermore you will be working together with local finance teams and accountants based in our shared service center in Riga.


Your profile:

  • Master’s degree in accounting, tax or related fields;
  • At least 5  years of  relevant working experience;
  • Oracle JDE knowledge and previous experience in the fuels and/or retail industry are a plus;
  • Strong analytical mind and eye for details, result oriented;
  • Real team player, able to bridge the collaboration with global and local teams;
  • Fluent in English both verbally and in writing.
