Job Description:

SAP Portal Developer with knowledge of NWDI (NetWeaver Development Infrastructure) is a professional skilled in developing and managing applications within the SAP Enterprise Portal environment, utilizing the tools and infrastructure provided by SAP NetWeaver.

Key Responsibilities and Skills

1. SAP Enterprise Portal Development:

- UI Development: Creating and customizing user interfaces using Web Dynpro, or Java.

- Portal Content Management: Managing iViews, Pages, Worksets, Roles, and customizing the Portal Navigation structure.

2. NWDI (NetWeaver Development Infrastructure):

- Change Management: Utilizing NWDI to manage development changes, ensuring a structured and controlled environment for software development.

- Development Components: Managing and deploying Development Components (DCs) within the NWDI framework.

- Track Management: Creating and maintaining tracks for software development, ensuring seamless integration and deployment across different environments (development, test, production).

3. Java Development:

- Proficiency in Java, as NWDI and the Enterprise Portal often involve Java-based development.

4. Integration Knowledge:

- Backend Integration: Integrating the portal with backend SAP systems (like SAP ERP, CRM, etc.) using various connectors and APIs.

- Web Services: Knowledge of creating and consuming web services for data integration.

5. Configuration and Customization:

- Customizing the portal according to business requirements, including theme customization, branding, and layout adjustments.

- Configuring Single Sign-On (SSO) and User Authentication mechanisms.

6. Knowledge of SAP Tools:

- Familiarity with SAP tools like SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio (NWDS), CTS+ (Change and Transport System), and SAP Solution Manager for monitoring and management.

Typical Tasks

- Developing and maintaining portal applications that provide a user-friendly interface for accessing SAP and non-SAP systems.

- Using NWDI for managing the lifecycle of development components, ensuring code consistency and quality.

- Configuring and customizing the SAP Enterprise Portal to meet specific organizational needs, including navigation, user roles, and permissions.

- Integrating with backend SAP systems to fetch and display data in the portal, providing a seamless user experience.

- Implementing and managing change control processes using NWDI, ensuring that development, testing, and production environments are properly synchronized.

Required Experience

- Experience in SAP Enterprise Portal development and administration.

- Proficiency in Java and web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).

- Experience with NWDI tools and methodologies.

- Knowledge of SAP integration technologies (RFC, SOAP, OData, etc.).
