Northrop Grumman’s Weapons Systems Division is looking for a Staff Project Manager to support the Armament Systems/Ammunition organization/business unit located in Plymouth, MN.
The primary objective will be to support the Medium Caliber Ammunition Program Management team to ensure all program requirements and objectives are met. The individual will coordinate with cross-functional teams in order to satisfy program goals.
Northrop Grumman’s Armament Systems business unit is looking for a Staff Project Manager to support its expanding Medium Caliber Ammunition Portfolio. This portfolio includes 20mm, 25mm, 30mm, and LW30 ammunition and includes contracts with all USG service branches, as well as numerous international partners. The primary responsibility of this Project Manager position will be supporting the Program Management team with program execution. The individual will partner with the Program Managers and their functional support teams on all aspects of managing a program, to include cost, schedule, and technical performance.
Project Managers will be responsible for leading all phases of the program life cycle from inception (proposal development) through final submittal, negotiations, and contract signing. Primary responsibilities are the management of cost, schedule, and technical performance of pursuit and capture programs or subsystems and include, but are not limited to:
Leading and directing cross-functional Integrated Program Teams (IPT) to meet program cost, schedule and technical performance objectives.
Measuring and reporting program performance.
Supports Risk and Opportunity management of the IPT and program.
Creation, review and finalization of the program Statement of Work and other associated program management artifacts.
Identification, distribution, tracking, and completion of program requirements.
Development and adherence to budget baselines utilizing Earned Value Management (EVM) or similar cost & schedule control methodologies and tools.
Identifying, allocating and managing program resources, including workforce planning.
Managing Government/Customer supplied property (GFM/GFE)
Managing suppliers to meet program objectives.
Adherence to all internal processes, policies, and applicable industry standards
Ensuring IPT understands and adheres to contract scope and manages change through control board activities.
Development and adherence to master plans and schedules.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with 12 years or a master’s degree with 10 years of relevant professional experience in project management activities. Additional 4 years of directly related professional work experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
Proficiency with Microsoft system application tools.
Experience and/or knowledge in a manufacturing and production environment.
Experience and/or knowledge in Program/Project Management.
Ability to work closely with multiple functional organizations (Program Office, Engineering, Manufacturing, Field Operations, etc.).
US Citizenship is required.
Able to travel up to 25% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field.
Prior experience with large or medium caliber military armaments, or related systems including development, transition to production, and production experience.
Demonstrated history of effective and productive customer relationships.
Experience with cost, schedule, and project leadership.
