Job purpose
BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as a Program Manager. Responsible for organizing, coordinating, and executing a comprehensive program management framework that meets customer expectations. Provides program management for customer programs with a smaller scope in terms of number of customers, facilities, programs, or strategic importance. Potentially involved in securing business readiness/quoting by focusing on assertive oversight of product launches, cost containment, prevention, and reduction throughout the product lifecycle, and comprehensive communication efforts. Working across all organizational levels, the incumbent must build a strong case for the program and obtain commitment from department heads to enable resource allocation. Leadership activities include, but are not limited to, strategic programs within a team environment encompassing goal planning and definition, product design and development, process design and development, product and process validation, and initial production performance
Key responsibilities
Serve as the program owner, accountable for its execution and success.
Act as liaison between Program Managers at PDS technical centers and SLP operations, improving communication and ensuring SLP operational requirements are addressed by Sales, Product Engineering, and Program Management.
Ensure adherence to BorgWarner’s program management process and proper involvement of SLP operations/functions. Participate in the quoting process.
Work across all organizational levels to build a case for the program and secure commitment from department heads for resource allocation. Escalate program issues as needed to drive accountability within the PDS organization.
Coordinate launch management activities at the plant. Supervise assigned staff in SLP. Ensure launch management function has adequate training, capability, and staffing levels.
Drive the APQP process related to operations to meet cost, timing, and delivery objectives in a TS16949 environment. Direct interaction with the customer for APQP initiatives based on SLP plants, change management, and launch readiness.
Implement BorgWarner’s program management process in SLP and support improvement of SLP’s change management process.
Ensure customer team members are trained in BW PM processes as required.
Lead by example in implementing the LA/GS Model.
Develop and validate program scope and customer deliverables, ensuring quality, timing, and product performance expectations are met.
Identify and manage assigned resources (purchased material, engineering development, capital investment, launch costs, contractual provisions) to minimize total program costs and maximize expected returns.
Lead and manage the team environment through all program phases/gateways with emphasis on synergy, development, and empowerment to ensure collaboration, team unity, and success.
Conduct frequent team meetings, including functional monthly meetings, joint BW/customer meetings, and EOT review meetings.
Evaluate and review team member performance and provide input for TMS.
Address and resolve program “roadblocks” through appropriate functional managers, directors, or vice presidents.
Maintain the program team in place for 3–6 months post-launch to ensure delivery, quality, and cost objectives are met. Objectively evaluate performance with EOT input to determine at 3 months post-start whether an extension is required.
Ensure compliance with internal and external documentation requirements.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
Schooling: Bachelor’s degree in Science in Business, Engineering, or related discipline
Experience Time in similar position:
- 5 years of experience in business, engineering, or manufacturing
- 0–3 years of program management experience with a minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience in cross-functional teams
Technical knowledge required:
- Advanced engineering/business degree preferred
- Strong program management skills in resource, task, and budget planning
- High technical competence, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
- Understanding of managerial finance as it relates to program and business metrics
- Solid knowledge of engineering and manufacturing functions within the automotive supplier market segment
