About the job

The Senior Accountant on the Corporate Accounting team will assist with accounting and administrative responsibilities related to Franklin Square Holdings, LP, Subsidiaries and Affiliates.

The successful candidate is expected to:

  • Assist in the month-end processes by reviewing journal entries, reconciling accounts, updating schedules, and presenting results at monthly close meetings
  • Manage payroll administration including earnings, deductions, tax codes, troubleshooting and data feeds. Assist with annual payroll and W2 filing.
  • Prepare compensation schedules, as requested. Calculate monthly allocations of all compensation related costs, including bonus accruals.
  • Partner with Compliance, Fund Operations and Sales Operations to ensure accuracy with current compensation terms.
  • Review and approve coding of all invoices and travel & expense reimbursements inputted by other accountants.
  • Assist with annual audits; compile data pertaining to various audit requests.
  • Assist with annual tax return preparation, working directly with external tax firms.
  • Update and/or create process documentation for SOX compliance.
  • Partner directly with internal teams such as Human Resources and IT on various projects, demos, and system rollouts.
  • Become proficient with accounting policies and procedures, working with team to update when necessary.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, efficiencies, and best practices.
  • Other accounting tasks and special projects, as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with Accounting or Finance major preferred.
  • CPA preferred.
  • 3-5 years of general accounting experience.
  • Microsoft Office skills, specifically advanced Excel skills, required.
  • Proficiency in Great Plains, Adobe, or similar products.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple priorities and work within tight timeframes.
  • Familiarity with GAAP, partnerships and financial reporting preferred.
  • Experience managing sensitive information.
