OVERVIEW:

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Packaging Development:

  • Strategize with cross functional teammates to understand needs for copy and for materials such as product tags and packaging

  • Leads internal meetings to gain insight/details of incoming line lists and projects

  • Works closely and collaborates with business partners to help develop long-term and short-term material and content strategies

  • Manages the Time and Action Calendar to ensure deadlines/due dates are appropriately communicated to Packaging Designer and the Production Team

  • Understand competitive landscape for your category based on trends in the market that are relevant to the specific category. Track identified emerging competitors to aid in assessing their strengths and threats

  • Keep current on design, content and companywide initiatives related to product development

  • Identify risks/opportunities for design projects; present roadblocks and solutions to continue to drive the process forward 

  • Strategize and act on current business analysis to identify future packaging opportunities

  • Lead post-season hind sighting of win/misses/opportunities for packaging execution

  • Assists Packaging Designer on executing photo shoots (samples, scheduling, booking talent)

Managerial Responsibilities:

  • Oversees copy and packaging execution, provides feedback and guidance to team

  • Leads the internal evaluation and championing of design work through to Packaging Management

  • Manages individual workload, executes and delivers on multiple projects for themselves and their team; guides packaging designers/copy writers to ensure compliance with the timelines indicated on the Time & Action calendar

  • Provide guidance to teammates on projects and deliverables, holding teammate accountable to deadlines.  This includes organizing and monitoring workload to ensure priority deliverables are fast tracked

Copy Development: 10% of Time

  • Oversees Capture Process: Ensure the product spec is entered into capture in accordance to the time and action calendar. Enhance spec to be engaging and compliant content that is aligned with the brand personality and athlete consumption habits

  • Research new and relevant ideas to keep content fresh in the marketplace and to align copy content to the overall brand look, tone and feel

  • Understand the intended audience by brand and what resonates each specific athlete to develop content in several writing styles for a variety of audiences

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in packaging engineering, industrial design, supply chain management, or related field.

  • 5-7 years experience in packaging project management or related roles, with a proven track record of successfully managing packaging projects.

  • MS Office Suite

  • Adobe Suite

  • Strong project management skills (e.g., timeline management, resource allocation, team leadership).

  • Analytical skills to assess project performance and implement improvements.

  • Proficiency with packaging design and manufacturing software.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
