First mile transportation capabilities provides the bridge between operations and technology, ensuring that the increasingly complex supply chain and the tools to manage it are functioning properly. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

This role preforms implementations and maintains products, tools, and capabilities that support our increasingly complex first mile landscape, supporting the operations team from origin vendor through ports in the US and Canada and delivering to Nike distribution centers and Nike wholesale partners. This role serves as the first line of support for the operations team and is the bridge between business operations and technical teams. The person also assists with capability building programs, sets pilot scope/timing/objectives, and transitions “pilot” programs to “business as usual” programs, run by the First Mile Operations team.

The candidate needs to have strong technical skills, including SQL and Tableau. Other desired skills in SAP, Blue Yonder TMS, other database experience. Strong Excel and MS suite tools required.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

  • Serves as the day-to-day point of contact for Transportation system troubleshooting including validation of EDI message receipts and error messages review and resolutions.
  • Bridge between operations and technical teams
  • Review data as needed in the Transportation Management and other relevant systems
  • Advise fixes and enhancements within the logistics systems
  • Responsible for testing with carriers and other third parties
  • Responsible to reach out to other groups to explain fixes or loop in other teams with more detail error info.
  • Monitors Transportation System Performance and data flow to ensure data accuracy from LSP/Carriers
  • Maintain master data within transportation systems such as LSP allocations, etc.
  • Evaluates and recommend new opportunities for enhancing our software, hardware, and IT processes.
  • Support testing for System Enhancements such as new LSP integrations and capabilities.
  • Maintain required documentation to support system processes.
  • Work and build effective relationships with key partners: first mile operations team, LSP management team, planning and technology teams, global logistics product management team and the supply chain center of excellence.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You will build effective relationships with partners across the supply chain to create the future of first mile transportation. Key partners include the first mile operations team, licensed service provider management team, integrated flow planning team, technology teams, and the supply chain center of excellence. The role reports directly to the First Mile Capability Development Manager.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 2 years directly relevant work experience Note: One of the following alternatives may be accepted: PhD or Law + 1 yr; Masters + 0-3 yrs; Associates degree + 1-3 yrs; High School + 3-5 yrs
  • First mile transportation operations experience, including air, ocean, and intermodal shipments
  • Proven track record in program and change management
  • Dynamic storytelling and ability to influence without direct authority
  • End-to-end strategic thinking
