The Private Equity & Acquisition Finance team forms part of CBA's Capital Structuring division within Institutional Banking & Markets (IB&M). The team is responsible for originating, structuring, underwriting and executing leveraged and acquisition financing debt solutions for private equity sponsors, corporate acquirers and financial sponsors.
 

Working across a broad range of M&A, refinancing and strategic financing opportunities, the team partners closely with Coverage, Loan Markets & Syndications and Risk teams to deliver bespoke financing solutions for clients across the transaction lifecycle. As CBA continues to grow its acquisition finance franchise, this team plays a critical role in delivering market-leading outcomes to some of Australia's most sophisticated clients.
 

Do work that matters

As a Director or Executive Director, you'll play a leading role in the origination, structuring and execution of complex leveraged and acquisition finance debt transactions, supporting both client outcomes and CBA's broader growth ambitions across private capital and event-driven financing.
 

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead the origination, structuring and execution of leveraged and acquisition finance debt transactions for private equity sponsors, corporates and financial sponsors
• Develop transaction strategies and financing solutions across M&A, refinancing and corporate financing opportunities
• Partner with Coverage, Risk, Treasury, Legal, Loan Markets & Syndications and product teams to deliver exceptional client outcomes
• Lead transaction execution including credit analysis, modelling, pricing, documentation and approval processes
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with private equity sponsors, corporate clients, advisers and senior stakeholders
• Identify new business opportunities and contribute to a strong origination pipeline across IB&M and Business Bank clients
• Provide leadership, coaching and development support to junior team members
• Maintain a strong focus on risk management, governance and disciplined execution throughout the transaction lifecycle
   

For Executive Director candidates, additional responsibilities will include leading sponsor coverage strategies, driving origination efforts, implementing broader Capital Structuring strategic initiatives and mentoring broader deal teams across Capital Structuring.
 

We're interested in hearing from people who

Bring deep experience across leveraged finance, acquisition finance, structured finance, loan syndication, capital structuring, corporate banking or investment banking environments.
 

You'll also bring:

• Significant experience originating, structuring and executing complex debt financing solutions
• Strong knowledge of leveraged finance, acquisition finance and capital markets products
• Demonstrated success leading transactions from origination through to execution and distribution
• Exceptional stakeholder management skills and the ability to build trusted senior client relationships
• Strong credit, structuring and analytical capability, with sound commercial judgement
• Experience working across complex and fast-paced transaction environments
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders internally and externally
