Job Description:

Maryland Environmental Service has an opening for an Associate Engineer, Associate Engineer II, Project Engineer, Project Engineer II, or Senior Engineer to work in the Environmental Operations Engineering Division located at our Headquarters facility in Millersville, MD. This position provides mid to management level project management and engineering support to plan, direct and manage specific tasks related to MES projects and facilities.

Estimated Pay Range:

Associate Engineer: $64,289.46 - $88,397.83

Associate Engineer II: $70,718.27- $97,237.61

Project Engineer: $77,789.80 - $106,960.79

Project Engineer II: $85,568.63- $117,656.87

Senior Engineer: $103,538.76 - $142,365.42

Minimum Requirements:

All positions require a Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Sanitary, Mechanical, Geotechnical, Electrical or other generally recognized field of engineering from an accredited college or university. Additional requirements include:

  • Associate Engineer: 2 years of related engineering experience. Master’s Degree in an Engineering or Management discipline may be substituted for up to two years of the required experience.

  • Associate Engineer II: 4 years of related engineering experience. Master’s Degree in an Engineering or Management discipline may be substituted for up to two years of the required experience.

  • Project Engineer: 6 years of related engineering experience, two years of which include project lead/engineering oversight. Master's Degree in an Engineering or Management discipline may be substituted for two years of the required experience.

  • Project Engineer II: 8 years of related engineering experience, three years of which include project lead/engineering oversight and at least 1 year of experience managing staff. Professional Engineer Certification may be substituted for two year of the required experience or a Master’s Degree in an Engineering or Management discipline may be substituted for two years of the required experience.

  • Senior Engineer: 10 years of relevant engineering experience, four years of which included direct supervisory capacity managing technical and scientific staff. Professional Engineer Certification may be substituted for two years of the required experience. Assignment to some MES locations may require PE certification. Master’s degree in engineering or other relevant field may be substituted for two years of required experience.

Must have a valid driver's license with less than 5 points.
