Position Overview:

The Payee Service Representative supports the delivery of payments to payees on behalf of Zelis Payer clients, spanning registration, verification, and customer support activities. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to basic questions, by phone or secure mail messages, about payment products and services. 

  • Forwards complicated questions to the appropriate internal team or direct supervisor 

  • Troubleshoots and resolves customer issues in a professional and timely manner 

  • Exercises sound judgment and critical thinking skills in the execution of job duties and knows when to ask for guidance and/or share information with team lead and/or supervisor  

  • Identify process improvements, knowledge gaps and make suggestions to Leadership 

  • Is adaptable to business changes 

  • Contacts clients by phone to collect information needed to verify or update accounts 

  • Verify that client enrollment forms and deposit-related inquiries contain all necessary and appropriate information 

  • Adhere to Zelis Payments standards and policies to ensure client privacy 

 

Professional Experience and Knowledge:

  • Attention to detail and good analytical skills essential 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication

  • This is a client/customer facing position, so excellent customer service skills are required 

  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize MS Office products 

  • Thorough knowledge of company and departmental policies and procedures. 

 

Education:

  •  High School Diploma or equivalent is required

  • Associates Degree/two years college or equivalent work experience 

Work Environment:

  • A standard business environment exists with moderate noise levels 

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
