s an Associate Software Engineer, you will be a key contributor to the Kuadrant project and Red Hat Connectivity Link (RHCL) product as a member of the engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cloud-native API management and gateway solutions built on top of Kubernetes, Envoy Gateway, and Istio. You will help build, maintain, and enhance our microservices that power multi-cluster gateway management, rate limiting, authentication, and DNS capabilities. You'll have the chance to learn from senior engineers and make a tangible impact on an open-source platform used by organizations worldwide.

What You'll Do

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable microservices (primarily in Go) that support Kuadrant's API management infrastructure

  • Contribute to the development of Kubernetes operators and controllers that manage gateway policies, rate limiting, and authentication across multi-cluster environments

  • Collaborate with the open-source community and internal engineering teams to integrate new features and enhance existing capabilities

  • Write clean, high-quality, and testable code; participate in peer code reviews to ensure reliability and maintainability

  • Help troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues in Kubernetes environments, analyze logs, and contribute to performance optimization

  • Learn and apply cloud-native technologies, Kubernetes patterns, and API gateway concepts to solve complex problems

  • Contribute to documentation, examples, and community support efforts

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field

  • 0-3 years of professional experience in software development

  • Strong proficiency in at least one programming language (Go, Python, Java, or similar). You must have a solid foundation in programming, data structures, and algorithms

  • Experience with building or consuming RESTful APIs

  • Basic understanding of how APIs, gateways, or networking concepts work

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for learning new technologies

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, global, open-source environment

  • Comfortable working in a Linux environment
