Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE: APD), a Fortune 500 industrial gases manufacturer, has an immediate opening for a Site Supervisor Gen Gas supporting manufacturing facilities in the greater Kingsport area. These sites supply nitrogen and oxygen to a dedicated pipeline customer and include HPN and VSA operations.

The role will have primary responsibility for the onsite customer in Church Hill, TN, provide vacation coverage for other Site Supervisors as needed, and support the Kingsport Air Separation Plant as a Site Supervisor. The position is responsible for operating and maintaining assigned sites, with key accountability for EH&S management, operational excellence, cost control, productivity, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads the Basic Safety Process and is accountable for overall site safety performance.
  • Completes all administrative responsibilities for the sites.
  • Provides oversight of facility control and monitoring to meet or exceed contract requirements.
  • Supports day‑to‑day operations, including troubleshooting process and mechanical issues, coordinating maintenance, driving plant efficiency, and supporting plant projects.
  • Serves as 24/7 on‑call support for plant alarms and shutdowns.
  • Identifies maintenance concerns, develops corrective plans, and implements solutions within planned maintenance budgets.
  • Communicates regularly with the logistics team, asset manager, regional maintenance manager, technical support team, and site manager.
  • Acts as the primary point of contact for customer relations.
  • Ensures adherence to AP operating procedures and Global Safety Standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • 3+ years of process plant operations and/or maintenance experience
  • Demonstrated commitment to supporting Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs
  • Ability to build strong relationships with multiple support groups
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Willingness to work independently as needed
  • Willingness to support plant operations off-hours, including 24/7 coverage
  • Lead‑from‑the‑front attitude during unplanned plant events
  • Experience in project execution or project management preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to climb ladders and steps and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Will be exposed to a high noise environment
  • Elevated work required
