The Strategic Corporate Development department (CCD) supports the development of ZEISS through strategic projects in all areas of the ZEISS Group (business units, corporate functions and country organisations). The experienced team brings in diverse perspectives from different industries and promotes a culture of creative exchange. With fresh ideas and innovative approaches, the team contributes to achieving strategic goals and responding to the challenges of the future.

As Senior Manager Operational Excellence you will be responsible for driving the implementation of operational excellence projects with different business partners across the whole ZEISS group to deliver the desired results. Overall, this role requires a seasoned professional who can lead a team, drive results, and implement process improvements at a senior level.

Your role

• Develop and implement advanced strategies to optimize processes and increase efficiency along the value chain
• Identify opportunities for improvement and lead cross-functional teams to implement process improvements
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Total Quality Management
• Collaborate with the Corporate Operational Excellence team to develop and maintain best practice solutions and procedures
• Manage budgets and resource allocation for high impact projects
• Provide leadership and mentorship to develop a high-performance culture, and coach, educate, and develop continuous improvement skills and competencies across the organization.

Your profile

• Master's degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field

• At least 7 years of experience in an Operations-optimization or Operational Excellence role, ideally in a consultancy environment. Experience in a manufacturing or production environment

• Strong understanding of Operations optimization principles (like Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Total Quality Management)

• Strong project management skills with experience leading complex projects and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex data sets

• Higher level of business travel (globally) possible for individual projects

• Proficiency in German and English, both written and spoken
