Position Summary

The Benefits Administrator is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the company’s employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, disability insurance, wellbeing programs, and other related benefits.

This position ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations and acts as a liaison between employees and benefit providers to resolve issues and answer inquiries.

This role requires an individual who is detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about helping employees understand and maximize their benefits.

This position is remote, with a strong preference for candidates who reside in North Carolina. 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Administer Employee Benefits Programs: Administration of health insurance plans, retirement savings plans (e.g., 401(k)), wellness programs, and other benefit programs.

  • Benefit Enrollment and Communication: Support new hire and annual open enrollment processes, provide employee education on benefits options, and assist employees with benefits selection.

  • Compliance and Legal: Ensure company compliance with federal and state regulations related to employee benefits (e.g., COBRA, ACA, FMLA, ERISA, HIPAA).

  • Problem Resolution: Handle employee inquiries related to claims, coverage, and policy interpretation, working with providers to resolve any issues.

  • Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate and updated employee benefits records, including insurance plan enrollments, contributions, and changes in status.

  • Employee Support and Education: Provide ongoing support to employees regarding their benefits, helping them navigate and understand their benefits options and coverage.

  • Global Recognition: Provide support for HR and manager queries related to the Applause and Service Milestone programs. 

  • Billing Management: Ensure timely processing of all third-party invoices and fees.  Review and track spend, ensuring accuracy of supplier invoicing

  • Wellbeing: Support global wellbeing strategy.

  • Global: Support the International Benefit Manager as required with related duties for non-US benefits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred

  •  Professional certifications such as Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP are preferred but not required

Experience

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience administering employee benefits programs.

  • Experience in HR or related fields preferred.

  • Management of internal HR and employee benefit programs

  • Experience in a multinational or global organization preferred
