Are you a hands-on maintenance leader who thrives in regulated manufacturing environments and enjoys building reliable, high-performing teams? Join our Global Engineering & Technology (GET) organization at the Geel site — the largest small molecule API production site in our supply chain — and help ensure lifesaving medicines reach patients safely and reliably.
About the role
As Maintenance Manager you will lead an operational maintenance team responsible for reactive maintenance of the Geel production assets, driving flawless execution of 24/7 emergency repairs minimizing equipment downtime. You will mentor a team of maintenance team leaders and technicians operating in a 5-shift 24/7 regime. You will partner with day-regime maintenance teams and operations to optimize work and reliability teams to deliver sustainable improvements.
Key responsibilities
Operational leadership of 5 maintenance teams in a 24/7 working regime to ensure flawless execution of emergency maintenance work in a safe, compliant and cost-effective way.
Coach and develop the team to foster continuous improvement and empower the maintenance organization. Build a culture of constructive collaboration and a “can-do” mentality.
Drive a culture of safety and quality in a high-pressure production environment.
Prioritize corrective maintenance requests in alignment with the Operational management of the different site business units to minimize production downtime, to protect product quality and guarantee safety.
Participate in the Geel GET Maintenance & Reliability Leadership team and contribute to site-level initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills
Master’s degree or equivalent experience (Engineering, Science or similar) or strong demonstrable experience.
People leader: you love working in a group, hearing different point-of-views and discussing them with your peers and team. You strive to coach team members to get the best of them.
An individual with strong communication skills who can communicate efficiently with partners across different levels of our organization.
Structured approach, strong organizational and change-management capability.
Strong safety and quality attitude (experience in regulated environments preferred).
Passion for process equipment and technology.
