Why You’ll Love This Role

You will be part of the WSS (Wavelength Selective Switch) Calibration and Test Automation Team. In this role you will collaborate with the team to design, develop and maintain test and calibration automation infrastructure (software and hardware solution) for Lumentum WSS Modules. You will have hands-on lab experience with the test hardware setup and software development in .NET for test automation.

Team uses Agile SCRUM development process, and standard software development practices/tools (SVN, Git, CodeCollaborator, Confluence, Jira, etc).

What You’ll Be Doing

• Test Software development - Add new features, resolve bugs and validate the fixes in test automation software.
• Test Hardware setup – Setting up test hardware in the lab and validating hardware connectivity and functionality.
• Data gathering and Reporting – Use reporting tools for comparison of results between different software versions, for report generation.
• Software tools support – Maintain in-house software tools for feature enhancement/ bug fixes.

What We’re Looking For

Education:
3rd or 4th year Software/Computer Engineering or Computer Science, although software-inclined candidates from other Engineering/Science disciplines would also be considered

Experience:
Relevant experience in hardware debugging and/or software development.

Skills:

• Programming experience with Object-oriented languages (VB, C#, Java)
• Troubleshooting and debugging skills.
• Experience/understanding of the hardware communication interfaces.
• Experience with lab instruments for measurement and data recording.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with optical systems is an asset.
