Overview:
The Retail Sales Supervisor is a member of the Local Purveyor's leadership team and manages retail relationships within the route. Under general supervision of the Local Purveyor, the Retail Sales Supervisor proactively engages with retail partners to achieve service and operational excellence within the route. This role is responsible for growing sales and achieving key metrics (i.e., shrink, training, RPT). This role requires a demonstrated passion for the Brand, attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to exercise sound judgment.
Job Description:
I.Essential Functions:
- Develop and cultivate relationships with deli management to ensure ongoing support of Boar's Head Brand service requirements, new product launches, and product placement
- Partner with deli management by supporting in-store/chain initiatives, understanding market/geographic changes, recommending innovative solutions, and coordinating special events
- Represent the Local Purveyor at DM meetings as needed
- Ensure adoption and success of new products through proper signage, training, and events.
- Research credit requests and submit credit memos to the Local Purveyor for approval.
- Conduct one on one training with deli associates behind the counter and mentor deli associates on best practices
- Facilitate classroom training for retail partners, ensuring a consistently exceptional deli experience for fans
- Complete Deli Service Experience (DSEs) and prepare stores for validation
- Monitor and update (as needed) the Toolkit Binders
- Ensure proper execution of in-store merchandising, including case set, pre-slice, and family foods
- Update monthly marketing materials and ensure all signs, banners, POS materials, and decals are current, stocked, and in good condition
- Compiling information related to Boar's Head programs to present during weekly supervisor meetings
- Inclusive of DSE's, Boar's Head Sandwich production, Fresh Slice compliance, new product/LTO promotions, validation progress, selling events Assist with monthly focus communication and preparation for store level
- Create focus displays to use as a template for other team members to emulate
Grand Opening support/tracking
- Responsible for assisting with the ordering, delivery, and set up of new stores
- Assist with scheduling/tracking progress of Grand Opening commitments
- Day 1-5 training, Taste the case for associates, store sampling, production training scheduling including overnight
- Team support schedules
Personnel Management
- Two months of OTJ training with new RSA's as needed in existing stores and different regions
- Inclusive of order writing, merchandising, BTC training, monthly focus, fresh slice, G&G production, 10-day, credits, scheduling new hires
- Setting up new hires and training new hires (and existing team) with E-Learning and GoSpotCheck, Time App, GroupMe, ADP, Expense Reports, and other technology utilized, hosting internal classroom training, team meeting preparation
- Scheduling up to three utility team members as it relates to selling events, grand openings, retail/service case resets, route-wide training needs (as communicated by sales managers)
General
- Complete additional activities or special projects as assigned
Minimum Requirements
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for a minimum of 4 hours
- Ability to bend, twist, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
- Ability to lift or carry objects weighing up to 60 lbs.; push or pull objects up to 1000 lbs.
Working Conditions
- Ability to work in a refrigerated/freezer environment
- This position requires a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays based on the Local Purveyor's schedule.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, including basic math and reasoning
- 3+ years of experience in sales, merchandising or similar role; preferably with perishable goods
- High school math competency, basic reasoning and computer skills
- 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Excel
- Ability to speak, read, and write English
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Training Requirements
- ServSafe certification
- Product knowledge including species, flavor profile, product handling, slicing technique
- Use of internal product and training tools (e.g. TRC, DOCK)
- Deli Operations
- Slicer use, maintenance, and cleaning
- Deli scale operation and sanitation
- Proper slicing technique, product wrapping and handling
