About the Role:

Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing Analytics & Modeling, this role will be responsible for executing on Dow Jones' investment in next-gen marketing data science in support of its direct to consumer products. This seasoned professional will be responsible for using advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and machine learning to optimize performance, improve customer profiling and retention activities, and enhance overall marketing effectiveness across DJ's products. In particular, this person will help Dow Jones build out critical aspects of a next-gen marketing technology suite, including harmonization, attribution, return-on-spend analysis and modeling, analytics, optimization, and scenario planning. Strong candidates will have direct experience building core aspects of a media mix model and special focus on predictive capability.

You Will:

Responsibilities:

  • Media Spend Modeling & Scenario Planning: Build predictive models to capture the effectiveness of marketing spend across channels and customer types; structure data integration, harmonization, and attribution processes in order to support robust modeling; build optimization tools to analyze and manage models holistically; socialize models with stakeholder teams; propose and explain marketing strategies that improve business outcomes and support stakeholders
  • Data-driven Marketing Strategies: Utilize advanced analytics and predictive techniques to analyze large volumes of customer data, including demographic information, transactional data, online behavior, and social media data. Derive actionable insights to optimize marketing strategies, improve customer targeting, and personalize marketing campaigns.
  • Customer Segmentation: Develop sophisticated customer segmentation models based on behavioral, attitudinal, and demographic variables. Collaborate with marketing teams to leverage these segments for personalized and Automated marketing campaigns, customer retention initiatives, and upsell/cross-sell opportunities.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, product, and finance, to understand their business needs and translate them into data-driven solutions. Present insights and recommendations to senior executives and stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner.

You Have:

  • 10+ years experience in Data Science, strategy, data, marketing, and/or general management preferred
  • Degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related disciplines
  • Extensive experience in marketing analytics, data science, or a related field. Experience of overseeing media pricing analytics strategy with a focus on subscriptions is a plus
  • Hands-on experience constructing and managing all aspects of a media mix model, including integration and harmonization, attribution modeling, channel effectiveness modeling, scenario optimization, and planning
  • Strong expertise with predictive modeling, machine learning, data mining, forecasting, and advanced analytics
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL, along with experience in working with large-scale databases and data manipulation
  • Experience of building Predictive Marketing Technology tools
  • Deep understanding of marketing principles, customer segmentation strategies, and digital marketing channels
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Familiarity with marketing automation platforms, CRM systems, and digital analytics tools is a plus

Pay Range: $135,000 - $165,000
