We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Strategy & Governance to join our Technology Audit & Advisory Services Leadership Team. This role offers the opportunity to develop and deliver team strategy, oversee operations, and partner across the organization to deliver high-value audit and advisory services focused on creating a digital experience. By joining us, you will play a crucial role in enhancing governance, risk management, compliance, and internal controls, contributing to our mission of driving value and fostering a culture of excellence at Manulife.
Position Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality insights and reports to business partners and stakeholders.
- Manage team operations, reporting cadence, and updates.
- Oversee organizational change for methodology adjustments.
- Lead the bi-annual risk assessments and prioritize the audit plan across the leadership team.
- Prioritize and manage initiatives to simplify and digitize department operations.
- Coordinate analytics strategy for technology audits with audit teams.
- Collaborate with the first and second lines of defense on Process Risk and Control scope and RCSAs improvements.
- Conduct industry benchmarking to enhance audit reports and support the strategic direction of technology audits.
Required Qualifications:
- 10 years of combined education and experience in a strategy function within a large multinational corporation, ideally in the Financial Services industry.
- Strong analytical capabilities, very comfortable with quantitative and financial analysis.
- High level of conceptual skills and an ability to operate strategically.
- Exceptional PowerPoint and storytelling skills.
- Excellent facilitator and communicator.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in top-tier management consulting, auditing, or similar strategy roles.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior leadership team members individually and collectively, and get recommendations approved and implemented.
- Regarded as a realistic and practical individual, respected for the ability to deliver.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with incomplete information, but continue to push tasks through based on known information, common sense, and asking the right questions.
- Strong business acumen, customer and market focus; proven strategic thinking and execution skills.

Salary range is expected to be between
$103,050.00 CAD - $185,490.00 CADIf you are applying for this role outside of the primary location, please contact [email protected] for the salary range for your location. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
