Your Work Shapes the World at Caterpillar Inc.
When you join Caterpillar, you're joining a global team who cares not just about the work we do – but also about each other. We are the makers, problem solvers, and future world builders who are creating stronger, more sustainable communities. We don't just talk about progress and innovation here – we make it happen, with our customers, where we work and live. Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.
Caterpillar’s Global Finance Services Division is seeking a Senior Director of Corporate Accounting and SEC Reporting to provide enterprise‑level leadership over the company’s global accounting, consolidation, and external reporting activities. This is a highly visible and influential role responsible for the integrity, accuracy, and transparency of Caterpillar Inc.’s consolidated financial statements and public disclosures, including judgmental and highly complex accounting estimates that materially impact reported results.
In this role, you will lead the teams responsible for the global monthly close, U.S. GAAP consolidated financial reporting, and SEC filings (Forms 10‑Q and 10‑K) for a complex, multinational, publicly traded company. You will also provide senior‑level oversight of enterprise‑wide accounting estimates and processes, including warranty reserves, post‑sale credit accruals, and intercompany profit elimination, ensuring estimates are well‑supported, consistently applied, and appropriately reflected in external reporting. As a key advisor to senior leadership, you will partner closely with Finance, Technical Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Legal, Investor Relations, and global business units to address complex accounting matters and ensure high‑quality external reporting.
This role is based in Irving, Texas and leads a team of 14 professionals, including three direct reports, and reports directly to Caterpillar’s Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer.
