Ingredion is hiring a Senior Food Technologist, Applications & Custom Solutions to support multidisciplinary new product development and applied research projects. The Senior Technologist will be responsible for supporting our ingredient portfolio, developing new ingredients and solutions, publishing technical and go-to-market materials, overseeing the preparation of customer prototypes and documentation, and supporting key customer projects.

What you will do:

• Develop and expand our Dairy and Dairy Alternatives strategy by working with global and regional teams to identify and bring new ingredients to market.
• Identify current technical gaps and develop new capabilities and expertise.
• Develop relationships with customers in target markets and work with internal & external resources to deliver formulated solutions and technical information to support customer projects globally.
• Work with go-to-market teams to understand market needs in growing sectors, define shared work plans, and gain support throughout project timelines.
• Develop new dairy and dairy alternative concepts which leverage ingredients and processes to be applied regionally and globally.
• Develop, investigate, and commercialize new ingredients and technologies.
• Conducts the appropriate experiments in the laboratory and pilot plant to advance projects to completion.
• Develop technical presentations to be presented at organization meetings and trade shows.

What you will bring: 

• Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or related scientific field (e.g. Food Technology, Food Engineering Chemical Engineering) with solid food product development experience.
• Experience in food formulation and strong understanding of food science principles.
• Demonstrated hands-on product development experience in the Dairy & Dairy Alternative Category Application segment (Yogurt & Fermented Milk products, Cheese, Ice Cream, Frozen Desserts, and their Plant-Based Alternatives).
• Experience in the scale-up and commercialization of consumer-packaged goods is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of ingredient selection and differentiation related to selecting and formulating with Starches, Hydrocolloids, Proteins, Specialty Sweeteners, Flavors, Enzymes, and Cultures regarding Dairy and Dairy Alternative applications.
• Ability to build capabilities in innovation and new product development
• Excellent technical skills with the ability to support projects in the Dairy and Dairy Alternative Category within the Innovation and Go-to-Market communities.
• Ability to engage and build working relationships effectively with diverse stakeholders across functions and levels of the organization. 
• Experience with SAP, Salesforce, and Formulation Management systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
• Ability to travel up to 20%​.

Pay Range:

$81,680.00-$108,906.67 Annual

This pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Final base salary will be determined based on several factors which may include but are not limited to responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data and applicable bargaining agreement (if any).

Incentive Compensation:

As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Ingredion Annual Incentive Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus.
