Position Overview:

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for supporting various aspects of Beam’s accounting processes and day-to-day accounting operations. This role will work cross-functionally with teams including Research, Development, Operations, Legal, and IT to help ensure the Company’s activities are appropriately reflected in the financial statements. The Staff Accountant will assist with month-end close activities, account reconciliations, journal entries, and other accounting functions while supporting the accounting team as the Company continues to scale and enhance its commercial operations.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaid expenses, reclasses, and other recurring entries.
• Perform monthly account reconciliations and investigate and resolve reconciling items.
• Maintain supporting schedules for balance sheet and income statement accounts.
• Assist with monthly and year-end close activities.
• Provide support for annual financial statement audits and periodic reviews, including Sarbanes-Oxley control reviews.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to obtain information needed to estimate monthly accruals.
• Assist with documenting accounting processes and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and strengthen internal controls.
• Ad hoc analysis and other special projects as necessary.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 2+ years of accounting experience.
• Previous public accounting experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and collaborative skills.
• Ability to work effectively with all levels in the organization.
• Experience with Netsuite, SAP, Coupa and Blackline a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and process orientated.
